More work this week, so far about 6 hours. Mostly just re-organising the front end of builders with an overview. Before I continue with the rest of the rules I will be back into the points sheet builders. They need cleaning up to cover the new break out of Gruntz Specialist and Vehicle Specialist. What about field artillery???

I have that covered . Artillery has been split into mobile and field/emplacement. Hoping to organise the pts correctly for them - the pages are set ready for content.

Awesome! Can't wait to see 1.1 I've been trying to hold off pointing up my armies until it gets into the wild.

Is there any scope for specialists with less than four wounds? I'm trying to stat up grav bikes and would like them to have a single wound each so I an field units of fast moving, but easily destroyed bikes. ( I was considering building them as gruntz and just adding the specialist grav movement cost). This works out at six points for a single bike with four wounds or 12 points for a gruntz unit of six bikes with one wound each. I think that's quite comparable. double the points for one and a half times the damage points, but this is compensated for by the increase in firepower.

I am not planning Specialists with less than 4 wounds. I am sure your tweak would cover it though and from experience bikes do get shot at and wiped out pretty quickly even with 4 wounds. It just depends on what is shooting at them.

I thought 1 wound specialists might cover things like dogs and handlers too. My other idea was to stat them as specialists with no base cost and 1 wound. They end up too expensive though.

One last question, does custom sized squads are still in plan? The matter is I want to play Victorian Science Fiction with Gruntz and I really want 10man squads for it. I know I can use Swarm rule, but this won't allow me to use any other perks to represent Zulu, steam warriors, Martians.

Hi Robin,
Any news on a release date? Every time I check 1.1 seems to be getting bigger rather than closer ;D
Our group has put plans on hold while we wait and people besides myself are starting to lose interest and move to other systems (which is disappointing but not unexpected I guess).
They know that they can get 1.1 free if they buy 1.0 but it is more about the investment in time, building lists to points, etc.

Please bear in mind that Robin is very busy. He wants his rules to be as great as possible and listen to opinion and ideas of forum members. Not all rule writers do this

I am still on it Millsy - Hopefully be ready to buy as a Print on demand for Salute. To be honest, I do appreciate that people might lose interest but it is still early days for Gruntz, so I would rather try and get things right than worry too much about players moving on to other games. I am 100% committed to it but life has a way of putting family and work first which slows me down. Hopefully if the printed result is right and enjoyable those that lost interest might be convinced to take a second look. I did take 2 days of annual leave in late feb and pulled about 20 hours on the rules - including an all night session. It got me over a blockage caused by the need to update the pts system. So I am back out of the pts planning again and into the copy updates. It just takes time and a big push which is happening, just not as fast as the public want it to.

We are using v1 which everyone loves, so an improved version can only be good news

Robin, thanks for the update. I fully understand about you having a life. Believe it or not I have one too! IMHO you'll be far better off with a successful later release so spending the time to make it right is for the best. People forgive a lot when they're eventually made happy. Fjodin, don't mind me. I'm just giving Robin the benefit of some market sentiment and keeping a gentle pressure going, just like he asked right back the the beginning of the thread.
