I'm a bit freaked out by the fact that there is already an entry by a guy with a forum name of "EvilEvan" (my RL name is Evan), in a very similar colour scheme to my entry...... Anyway, here is my entry, it is for a faction that i've been wanting to build models for for YEARs but never found enough figures at 28mm, but I have now managed to find some at 15mm. In all honestly I started painting these before I knew about the contest, but I only started in January, so i'm hoping that people are happy for me to enter the contest still.... I have one Pre-paint picture that I took yesterday though: I really didn't see the resemblance to seahorses until after I started applying paint...... lol Here is a scale shot with my drones vs. the bottom half of a GZG spider drone and a Khurisan Lhurrg tribesman (both yet to be converted). I took this as everything I have painted so far is all converted from 28mm bits (e.g. nothing to see the scale with apart from the bases (uk currency). Demiurg Warden Battlesuit (Commander): Drones with Nicassar psyker attachment (Infantry): Nicassar Praam (Flyer): A couple of shots of the whole group: The bases have chipped already, what is the best way to get the black paint to stick and STAY stuck to metal coins...? Also Robin, any way you can get Picasa web photos to work with this forum, I hate photobucket now that i've used Picasa.... it was a real slog to get these photos online and the look more grainy because of all the re-sizing. Cheers.

This is a teaser shot as it is too dark to get decent pics at this time. Proper pics to follow tomorrow.

The bases have chipped already, what is the best way to get the black paint to stick and STAY stuck to metal coins...? 1st off Maxxev this is a really appealing set of mini's. Wonderfully unusual and nicely painted. As for the coin chipping issues. Give them the same love you would the rest of the mini. Prime, paint, gloss varnish (for handling toughness) and matt varnish (if you are not a fan of gloss finish).

Really like those Alien flyers Maxxev (Evan) - They are very original and would be brilliant additions to a "bio-mekanic" army. Are they bread markers or some sort of kitchen tool?

Those are the back pieces from a Retribution Phoenix Myrmidon, from Warmachine.

Someone had a good eye for detail! I never was a fan of those Retribution models, especially painted white. I did see a great black scheme where the painter had given all his models a manga black/blue/red look at SELWG one year though and they looked slightly better in a brooding black style. So now I know that Retribution parts are made from those wooden wheels that make dents and cuts in the sides of pastry pies before you bake them

Thank you for that. I should have clarified that I was more interested in how you obtained the colour of your bases than how to stick sand to a base , I much prefer the colour of your bases to mine. The flock also adds more variation which is cool. I'm going to have to pick some of that up.

Love the paint job on the AT-TE, the little guys are great too. I almost went with AT-TE's in my army (as I will have a fair few walkers by the end). but I decided that all teh vehicles will be anti-grav (or Nicassar powered (naturally anti-grav)). Tight competition i'd say . I don't envy Robin's task as judge lol.
