I'm going to enter, but I failed to take any before pics.
You'll have to take my word for it that until my first game of gruntz in early december my old laserburn minis were half-painted and all stuffed in bag in the back of a drawer. They've since been stripped, based on 5ps and 2ps and are most of the way to becoming Leto Montelaw's Private Army with a little back-story too. My scratchbuilt grav GSVs are based on dental floss dispensers. Should be ready by the end of the week...

OK so my entries will be : 1) six man squad of scifi Germans with flamethrower squad attachment.
2) artillery vehicle : Old Crow Goanna scout converted to panzerwerfer.
3) command unit : officer + radio operator (+ one more trooper?) mounted together on one base
I don't know if a command unit is OK for the contest but I don't really like the heroic commander concept so I was thinking of making my commanders 3 figures on one base and my specialists will be 2 figures on one base to account for the extra hits.

I have two options. Hopefully I get my crusties and the vehicle I have in mind in time in which case that is what I'll go with. Otherwise I'll do a few more of my EarthSec troopers (UNSC). They certainly could need some support! Speaking of which. Would it be possible to have two smaller vehicles instead of one large?

I think two small instead of a large would be fine. Robin

Here is a work in progress shot: Eek! - Looks like I'm the first to post... So here's my entry for the Gruntz painting contest: 1 - A squad of Vivipara Infantry (Critical Mass Games) 2 - A Gekotaa Armored Car (Critical Mass Games) 3 - A Kaamados Agaamid commander with twin slug throwers (Critical Mass Games) They are all hand painted - no airbrushing. After the usual de-flashing etc, they all started with an undercoat of very thinned down Humbrol Matt Black enamel. Then I used a variety of different acrylic paints. For the vehicle, the 3 main colours used were from Revell - Gunship Grey, Medium Grey & Light Blue. The other colours were various Vallejo and Games Workshop acrylics... I read somewhere that you can make your own washes by thinning down your acrylic paint and adding a bit of PVA glue to the mix - this helps the thinned down paint to hang about in folds/creases etc - so I've experimented a bit with that...mainly on the vehicle - seemed to work ok! Ok - so that's my entry.... can't wait to see everyone elses!! - Good luck everybody!

Damn they are good. I'm a little behind schedule and not feeling very confident!

Now that is one very nice looking strike force! Love your colors, its simple but effective, i almost never manage this , my stuff always tends to end up way to complex. I'll post my entry as soon as I manage to get some decent pictures.

My elbows hurt and my wrists and eyes are killing me, but some major progress made today.
Troops are a couple of spots of paint away from being ready to base and the (mahoosive) vehicle is assembled ready for undercoating.
I may just do this yet....
