Under the Gruntz rules how do you create an Infantry Fighting Vehicle like the M-2 Bradley. The support vehicles have the transport requirements but cannot carry main weapons. And the tanks rules do not allow for transportation. If the a MODZ that would allow a non transport unit to can a single squad.

They can carry all light versions of the vehicle weapons... I thought of any medium weapons are main tank weapons.
If you wanted a medium projectile for instance, you could always take a light plasma and call it a light heavy projectile...

Looking at page 63 of Gruntz 1.1, the only weapons that a GSV can mount are anti-infantry weapons. Which under the chart on Pg 79 list vehicle anti-infantry weapons as light weapons. If you look at the M2 Bradley, the anti-infantry weapon is the M240C coaxial machine gun (not including the side guns for the mounted squad). The primary weapons is a 25mm autocannon with two TOW anti-tank missiles. So if I were wanting to remake the Bradley I would need Two main vehicle weapons and one anti-infantry weapons. I guess the intent it to distinctly separate tanks and troop transports.

Yeah, kinda blows, as I am using the new Khurasan AFV models. They have a light autocannon and missile launcher on the turret, and I cannot use them as modeled now for IFV's.
Any ideas?

Hmm,
I guess my house rule would be:
Modz Description: Tank Only. This tank is modified to be an armored transport for infantry.
Effect: Replace one main weapons slot with a transport ability: 1. A tank may not replace more than half of its main weapons slots rounded up into infantry transport slots.
Cost: 3 points per transport slot.
Does this seemed balanced? So to create the M2 Bradley, you would make a medium tank, tracked, and replace 1 out of 3 main weapons slots with a troop transport slot. This would allow you to fit a medium projectile cannon, and a medium missile launcher and two anti infantry weapons (coaxial MG, and a pintle mounted MG).
What do you think?

I'm using Antenocities APC's as IVF's mounted with vehicle light projectile and light missile.
Gives me punch and infantry transport.
Not a Merkava but fine as an IFV...

That was fine and dandy in 1.0, but 1.1 seems to limit GSV chassis to anti-infantry only weapons. No main vehicle weapons of any variety.
If I could just make it a light tank with transport, I'd go that route.

Hmm, I overlooked something. I think I can replicate my IFV with those weapons. I'll just have to turn the coax and top mount guns into a Micro-CIWS or something.

Light Plasma and Medium Projectile are relatively close in profile, in the same way it's not much of a jump from Light Missile Pods to Medium Missiles for the TOW.
Micro-CIWS or Side Gun Ports could fit for the rest.
ski2060 - I don't think anything's changed, 1.0 also had support vehicles limited to anti-infantry weapons.

The only problem with the use of a Light Plasma for a projectile weapon is that there are Mods Giving additional armor verses Energy or Projectile weapons. I make My IFV as GSV using standard rules & base their weapons on the Background of the force they belong to. For example. The 25mm Auto Cannon would be a Vehicle Light Projectile FA Giving you between 2 & 4 Shots a turn with a Dam 9 AP 2 meaning you are 11 +2D6 Damage Versus Vehicles Armor & 2 TOW Missiles become a Vehicle Light Missile Launcher with a Dam 14 AP 2 meaning 16 +2d6 versus vehicles armor. It carries the 2 TOW missiles as the 25mm Auto Cannon is not a very effective Anti Tank weapon this is plenty. In my opinion.
