In the builder for Grunt SA units, it mentioned both that you add cost of model before AND after dividing the Grunts squad cost - which one is correct.

Also the text says there is a base cost of 3pts whilst the example shows a base cost of 0pts.
I'm assuming that the text is correct:
Base Cost = 3pts Add cost after Gruntz Squad has had it's points halved
Otherwise SA's become just a way of buying half price weapons.

I'm sure Robin posted a response which I saw briefly on my phone and thanked him for. I've not seen it since and am now starting to genuinely believe I imagined it.
I think this error should be addresses at the same time as the margin printing errors.

Yes the builder is correct. The error is in the book. Errata coming in a few weeks time with gathered together points like this. Just waiting for any other issues to worm their way out of the woodwork before I create it.

Sorry, call me dense (and i don't have Barracks) - do SA cost 3pts + weapon, added after the squad points are halved ? Or just the weapon cost ?

Add up all the costs for stats. Halve the cost so far. Add the cost for unit weapons, grenades, Perkz. If you're changing the unit size, adjust accordingly, so a 3-model unit will cost half of a 6-model unit. Add the cost of each SA weapon, they will be one of the models already in the unit.

Okay I am bamboozled. In the rulebook we have: S.A. Base cost 3 + Base cost 0 Add to unit cost before dividing by two + Add to unit cost after dividing by two. As someone that is just starting out it really is very confusing.
Also from what ijwwartrader is saying we need to multiply costs if the unit size is changing? I was under the impression S.A's were additional models added to your 6 man unit. Is this not the case?

That was the old 1.0 way. In 1.0 the SA was an additional guy, in 1.1 he replaces one of the guys. This caught me out too I guess it's because you had fixed squad size in 1.0 and now you don't so it's simpler mentally to just think of the SA guy as buying a weapon upgrade for one of your guys. The base cost 3 thing has been clarified to be a typo. There was a base cost in v1 so I guess that's a hang over from then. What IJW means about multiplying is that now that units are different sizes you need to multiply by how much bigger or small than the basic 6 man unit they are. SA weapon cost is added after this multiplication as otherwise a single SA weapon would cost twice as much in a 12 man squad as in a 6 man one, which would be daft. When Barracks comes out, it'll do this for you, which would be my advice. I know that's no good right this moment though.

Under squad attachment next to the Arc Rifleman squad it says: "You can add up to two squad attachments to a Gruntz unit, each squad attachment is a single figure...." & then under the S.A. section it says: "A squad attachment is an addition to a single squad" & "& can be either a simple increase in size to the squad or" I'm not seeing anything that says you just add a heavy weapon. Everything points towards getting a chap to hold it too. You got a page ref I can point my opponent towards?

Yes Quozl is correct. All you do now is add the weapon to an existing Grunt and they become a Squad attachment but are still part of the basic set. This is the bit that got lost a little when I created the latest release and I overlooked the change needed to describe the process on the SA builder. I will be putting notes to address this in the errata.
