I am thinking about making a list using Tyranid models as I have a lot of excess Rippers.
I was going to focus on fast Assault forces using Rippers as the Gruntz and Spinefist Rippers as the shooting squads. Termagaunts would be the light mechs, genes tea Ers with some conversions become the Carnifexes, gargoyles are air support and VTOL. Other Nids added as flavor.
Will an assault heavy Gruntz force work, and how would you create the heavy weapon for squad attachment?

How would you create a transport?

I would just use the larger 'Nids. Tyrant Guard make for good transport Models
They are biological, and if memory serves there is a company that makes transport bugs. In all honesty, I'll likely suspend disbelief and say the Gargoyle (slicks) can transport a squad. The Carnifex stumpy bug of doom can transport more (2 -4), the others less.
I've also been messing around with drop rules, which could cover tunneling, spore delivery etc.

Keep us posted on progress if you can Zombie.
I'm working ... slooowwlyy ... on something similar. Different origins but the end result likely comparable to yours, i.e. a race initially focussed on assault as the main weapon.

I was thinking of some Start Craft rules for "organic growth type xenoids", something that lets them drop a spore pod and infect and area and perhaps then spawn new gruntz everyturn. Transports might also work for them or infected areas could offer a "tunnel" through to other areas when the transport drops a area effect marker to infect a new zone on the table

I'm not that familiar with Star Craft but such a rule sounds interesting. Great idea.

Tyranid warrior with genestealers head : carnifex genestealers with tentacle head : lictor flying warriors : harridan Gargoyle : flying warriors

Yann,
I can't wait to get access to my stuff again, it's currently en route to my new digs. When I get my stuff, I'll be in a better position to comment. So far, I like your choice of models and the roles you are proposing for them.
I have made some different choices model wise, but it all works out in the end as the Hive Mind co-opts us all.
I used Rippers with spine fists as termagaunts, other than that, you've made a couple of alternate choices, but it looks good.
