300pts vs 2 100pt forces Republic Armored Cav vs. Huntaars and Hippocampus Seamed easy. 3 players. 2 vs 1. Knowing that it would be a team of 2 vs 1 -2 actions on our side for his 1- we tried giving him extra points. The two player side set up terrain. Some woods and a small settlement. The Republic had to defend it by wiping out all invaders. Turn 1. Everyone moved. No big deal Turn 2. -or when we learned. Republic fire 1st Specialist Spotter into Huntaar Squad Merka5 fires into Spotter (misses) In-direct fire from one Republic Assault Tank eliminates the whole squad. Huntaar Specialist moves and destroys Republic Spotter In-direct fire onto the Merka5 followed by another. Turn 3. Republic tank missile fires and removes another squad. A second shot removes the damaged medium Grav tank. Rest of the game was just an excise in moving units and shooting. We also lined up shots to test the effectiveness of the Huntaar "Tank-killers" vs. Assault class tanks. Damaged but not really threaten. What we learned. The few extra points for an assault is so worth it. In fact the player that fielded 3! Said that's all he's fielding from now on. Even 2 vs 1 the extra 100pts was way too much to give up. The rest of us so hate his tanks with missiles now. Specialists, even full pointed up ones, pose no threat to Assault tanks. Even Medium tanks proved to be just a magnet for trouble from the other tanks.

Looks like a fun game! I have a bunch of VTOL units that i'm worried will get destroyed too quick! But i'll have to see how they work Were specialists just not able to take out the tanks damage wise? How about AP SA?

Nice battle report. Who manufacturers the infantry you've painted blue?

How about AP SA? 70 point Assault tanks. 19 soak 30 life. Two very solid hits from the Plasma cannon didn't even get to 1/3 the damage track of 1 of the 3 tanks. What's AP SA? Did we overlook something?

Yes the blue guys are Blue Moon Aquans. They make for good looking not-Rodian (Star War's Greedo) forces. I was thinking of having Sea Horses (Hippocampus) to add to my Khurasan Shark-men and walking Lampreys. Found a guy that had these on eBay. Yeah!

Well with the Plasma specialists they have damage 12 and AP 3 so 15 against armour so can do up to 9 damage with max role against your tank so not shabby at all!
Gruntz SA (squad attachment) may have more of an issue but as missile is the best anti armour but that's strength 9 AP 2 so 11 against armour so 5 max damage to tank.
With the tanks get into rear armour and then you can add 2 damage to your result. Also when you get to a critical box you have a chance to reduce it's armour by 4. I have found them hard but never imposible to take out and I use a sorta hardcore mode were we have to exceed soak not equal so figures above for us are one less!
Hope that helps.

Good to know. I have a few 1/72nd tanks and I thought they might be too large to use.

Actually it was 69 point Assault Tanks with a 20 or 21 Soak. Two had Uber Armor and the platoon leader had Neutronic Dampners (+2 Soak against energy weapons). Those are my Republic Marines Spartan 1A1 Main Battle Tanks. I guess I am glad you guys hate my tanks SO MUCH. A craftsman does like to see his work appreciated! So when is the next battle? (The models are from Dragon Armour. They are 1/72 scale Challenger 2 Main Battle Tanks.)
