I suspect indeed that the real reason because Robin wants to release the pdf after the book is that he doesn't want to correct the pdf and then the book again as soon as readers will find errors or typos in the pdf. The second possibility is that the 1.1 is not finished yet, and is the worst possibility ...an alternate to your conspiracy theory, and infinitely more likely, is that Robin has been honest with us and as he has stated, he wants to check the hard copy for formatting errors so that the printed copies don't go out formatted incorrectly and people don't receive PDF downloads that when they go to print their own copies at a local printer, it presents with a formatting error...

It's just like the moon landing all over again! I bet there isn't even a version 1.1!! We're though the looking glass people. (btw, I agree with twogunsblazing )

I paid my money in the kickstarter, and I am waiting patiently for the release. I'll get it when I get it.

Every single kickstarter I have supported has had disappointed people and to be honest I think the fault is with people's expectations, not with the various projects.
In a kickstarter you are supporting the development of a new product, not ordering an existing product. So supporting it is inherently a bit risky and people need to realize that. Lots of unexpected things can come up and the published delivery dates and even the product details are all subject to change due to this. The real world happens and things may not turn out like the project owner intended originally, this is not an indication of dishonesty, but merely reflects that something unexpected came along.

What I am saying is there any advantage for anyone in delaying the release of the PDF which we believe to be entirely finished until the physical printing is completed. Judging by how long it has taken for a single proof copy to be produced this would look to be some considerable time. Robin has stated that he wanted to treat those who contributed more to the kickstarter by getting the physical copy out. No one knows for sure but I doubt any of those people would object to a PDF release prior to the printed copy. There may also be commercial reasons for releasing the two versions sumultaneously, in which case Robin is perfectly entitled to do as he sees fit.

I for one don't mind waiting as I'll be getting the hardcopy as well as the pdf; I can just keep playing v1 or use 1 of the other rule sets that I've got (G-CAV/Imperial Commander/5150SA/NB/CM/Valkyrie/etc).

Does any one know if Robbin Eliminated Higher Mods Perk from the Game or is it Just a fluke that it is missing in the Kick Starter. Also if anyone Finds out the new Transport Capacity for Ground Support Vehicles is Changing to in 1.1 Can they Let me Know As I have Most of my TO&Es worked out but can not finish until I can Match the units to their Transport for my Mechanized Armies.
My Problem isn't with waiting for the rules to be released & I would donate again without a problem for this type of project. The problem is a delay like this can turn people completely of even trying a game & I really think the Gruntz is a Great Game.
As Some one Said Above the Perks are from the Barracks Kick Starter for Gruntz 1.1 & really shouldn't have anything to do with the release of Gruntz 1.1 as anyone who is playing the game has promoted it to at least a few people even if it just their small gaming group. Supporting the Kick Starter is Great & I Did, But I believe Robbin already said that the PDF is not Formatted Based on the Print Copy & that their will be A Separate Printable File for those who are interested in having the better formatted version to Bind, me myself I'm fine with my copy in an old 3 ring Binder. One more thing I wanted to Mention the group I game with use full Platoons & Companies including Support & all this is Based Of their TO&Es That we work out Based on a Multitude of Factors. Variable squad sizes in the base rules helps out greatly as I don't have to figure out the points this time to have greater tactical flexibility available to my armies. The only Problem is until 1.1 is released I am not sure if my mechanized forces are viable as Ground Support Vehicles Transport Capacities are an unknown.

One as a PDF. Option 2 as a Print on Demand and Option 3 as a Print on Demand + PDF. I am also thinking of reducing the price of the standard PDF version. I have yet to work out what how the option will work with the Barracks app which will be offered as a bundle or on its own. With regard to transport capacity I have attached the chart. Attachments:

I think people losing interest in the system because of a longer than expected wait will be like boomerangs and end up coming back at a later time anyway....if someone is genuinely interested in 15mm Sci Fi gaming, they'll be back.....
Thanks for the tidbit....

Thanks for the Chart for Transports it will allow me to finish a couple more TO&Es so i can mount mount them up & get working on them. I understand the time issue. I just want Gruntz to be successful as the system is versatile enough to let people play the type of games they enjoy. I'm not abandoning ship the Gruntz Videos on U-Tube Made Gruntz the first System i Purchased on my return to gaming. Also thanks for letting us know what was going on with the Vault. I wouldn't worry to much about the Price on the PDF as I believe it to be one of the Best Priced Gaming System in a PDF format at least from what I have Seen out there & is well worth the Price. It now makes more since why the rules are on hold for the print copy. I'm the first to admit that I have little or no patience.

Thanks for the tidbit.... This is true. Things go in swings and round-a-bouts and someone buying Gruntz will probably drop it and play the next new release from another company when an attractive looking set of rules comes along. There are sure to be more that follow because it is a scale gaining a lot of ground. Hopefully Gruntz will continue to be part of the scene.

So I have the new copy back in full glorious techno-color. Here I am proudly holding it. However there were several graphic layout issues contained within, which are now fixed. On the advice of the printer I am not simply going to hit print after the fix's went in and instead I am waiting for a second proof before I switch on the printing. So I am at the mercy of the print process again, hopefully quicker than last time. Me with the proof of my rules. by inrepose, on Flickr
