Probably yes. Just to be sure they both go out with the same final copy. Could I suggest going ahead and distributing the electronic copies. That would allow for a huge amount of eyes on it to look for typos, errors, etc. that could be collected before going to print. Just a thought. Tend to agree, easy to fix electronic copies if there is a problem. Paper, not so easy...

I really like the idea of having a lot of eyes on the copy. However I have already had eyes on it and don't want to get into a loop of edits. On the surface it makes perfect sense but first time around with v1 I was so overloaded with edits that I had to ignore many of them and just go for it. I am always going to have errors in there, however with the last round of draft reviewer red pen edits, which took me a good 3 weeks of fiddling to work through, I have decided thats it or I will end up going through divorce! . So I will probably curse the day I told myself I had done enough because there will be issues but I just have to get it out now and be done with it. Never say never though... I will wait for the proof print hardcopy to come through and see how confident I feel on the typo level.

That's real wisdom there Robin, and a good 'take home' for anyone considering writing for the hobby. We can only take a project so far. At some point the call has to be made that a thing is ready.
Absolutely try to get it right, that's the goal, but it's all part of the process to let the thing go knowing that typos will be found, better phrasing will be suggested and no doubt a FAQ or perhaps even an errata will follow at some later date.

Ooooh, I feel it's getting that close I can almost taste it Oh I don't know. If you saw Robin's comments on the Yahoo group. Hi All,
The release of Gruntz is now in the hands of the printing fates. They can't confirm a time to me because it goes through a pre-processing approval and then I get the printed proof delivered to confirm pages are printing in the right place and no text has been lost in the layout. They have printers in the US and the UK, which makes delivery easier when they finally approve the and process the files.
I submitted it early last week and had a moment of excitement, thinking I might even get copies to take to the SELWG convention this coming weekend. However I know they have not had time to process it yet, so I have a feeling it will be a couple of weeks before I can give it the green light.
I will keep everyone posted with timeframes, but I don't want to get people hooked on a particular date. I don't have the time to keep chasing printers etc, although I will be keeping things rolling along as best I can. Robin I would think we are still probably a month away from release. I would love to be proved wrong.

I'm betting on a simultaneous release of Gruntz! and Battle Group Kursk... I won't know which to play first!

OK tonights update. The printer has sent back the edited files. I had to re-load and link a lot of images to get the formatting correct but it looks OK. It is now uploaded in the correct layout and working through the print house process. They should let me print my print proof copy within 3-7 days (according to the upload form).
So moving along. Not as quick as I hoped however I now have the files properly in the process printers process and in the final layout.

I can't even remember if I'm a member of the yahoo group. I should look and join if I'm not!!! Oh well, not too much longer to go by the sounds of it. Ahahahaha....poor Robin, he must feel like he is floating in the deep south oceans being circle by a school of ravenous great white sharks about to break into a feeding frenzy...ahahahaha Trivia: I wasn't sure what a group of sharks would be called, so I looked it up and you can call them either a Shiver, School or Shoal (School and Shoal are shared with fish, but Shiver is not)...so there you go
