Hi All,
I know this forum is a bit cheap and cheerful and does have adverts plastered all over it. However I think it would be ideal if we can avoid anyone adding links or adverts to other products in Avatars or repeats in profile footers, signatures etc.
This is not a clamp down on linking out to other products. I really don't mind one off product links e.g. Links to new wargame projects or products, miniatures 15mm or any scale etc.
So I think the message is please do keep sharing news about products but try to avoid adding it to an Avatar or on a repeated signature. Do continue to link to anything personal like blogs etc.
On the other hand... If someone knows the other product company and they are happy to put links back to Gruntz product on their site it would be great to be able to share because a reciprocal link from a product site would be fantastic.
Thanks Robin

For Firefox and Chrome, the adblock extensions make the proboards pretty much add free. Not much to be done for IE.

Fantastic tip. I now have the adblock add-on installed in Safari and I don't see those adverts anymore. Very handy!

Also, for Firefox users, NoScript provides some awesome protection from adds, evil scripts and other crap as well as giving you more control of your Interwebs browsing fun.

Just touching on this topic again. If you are a business i.e. Miniature or rules sales company, please pm me before putting adverts on the forum for product. It is all good news but not fair if the site becomes a product sales channel without first having a chat. Opinions welcome.
Actually I probably need to put some forum rules together now, so there are no surprises if I move or remove the odd post.

Just a reminder again of the last note I put on about commercial links. I don't want to be Draconian but it is fair I think to ask that Miniature and Game companies drop me a PM just to be polite when it comes to linking out to your own product. Please have a thought for the commercial nature of your own sales links etc and get in touch with me. Thank you.
