Oh and if any oneknows where to get good N scale Battletech, I can't seem to find a good model. Or where to get any 15mm Large mechs that trend more on the battletech side over gundam... you would win respect points.

So I woke up today, and said "I don't feel sold on my color choices, or the models I picked." (and yes, I actually said that before I walked out to go to work. Not just saying that I said that.) So I went back today and took another look around and found these guys. Absolutely loved them. I still wanted purple incorporated in my scheme, but I decided for muted tones. I like the white on the helm and chest guard that I saw in the previews, so I'm going to keep it. I'm also painting the weapons a blue-grey because I feel like it's a little more sci-fi looking than black. Also keeping the eyes red for an ominous feel. The other models... I know they're themed on German infantry, but when I look back I just keep seeing Darth Vader. You can only have one Dark Lord of the Sith per army, (and one apprentice) and having a whole army made entirely of Vader Clones seemed unfair.

Shopping Victory: Purchased the Thunderbird CAV from reaper mini's, was randomly selected to receive a Master Series Paint (olive green) for free. That said, my CAV (obviously) arrived today It's much bigger then I thought. 7cm ( 2.75") and fairly bulky. It feels and looks like a nice heavy mech. I'm going to do a little conversion work on it for some of the mild aesthetics I dislike... -cockpit: It's seperated into two cockpits, one for pilot, one for gunner. I hate it. One, the seats are obviously too small for this game's scale, but I hate the idea of separating a crew. Second, it seems counter productive to me. I'm fixing this by filling in the windows, or even just painting them like armor, and sculpting in a new cockpit between the two. - Mid section: may add a few millimeters to this to add a little height. - Gun Barrels: Not looking for beam weaponry, going to fatten these to look more like cannon barrels. On a second look there is a crease in the barrel I could potentially cut the piece at and dremel out the barrel a bit.

Ground troop types:
Command:
Field Command: Consists of many high ranking individuals working at the behest of the Baron to keep the theater of war in check.
Medic Corps:
Bonded Medic: Medic from the Heiserman School of Medicine, who has been bonded to the house. Standard field medic, free to move about the battlefield to where help is needed most. 100th Division House Guard
House Guard: Standard light infantry. Usually based on foot, or dropped in via landing craft. Normally not attached to an APC, though my sometimes be paired with a tank or mech as support. Geared to hold objectives. 200th Division Special Ops.
201st “Norsemen” Dragoons: Mechanized medium infantry. Geared with heavier armor for assault actions, always attached to an APC, or dedicated drop/gun ship. Handle majority of the special ops needs of the House.
202nd Espionage Division: A division of individuals spread throughout the galaxy. Infiltrators, information gatherers and if need be, assassins. 300st Division Sniper Corps.
- The 301st “Huntsmen”: Member of the highly trained 301st sniper company. Trained in both field recon, and extreme marksmanship.
- The 302nd “Woe Bringers”: Member of the highly aggressive, assault oriented sniper company. Trained to forsake stealth for extreme accuracy and multi-target elimination.
400th Armor Division
- 401st “Iron Wolves”: The premier Tank corps of the house. Consists mostly of mobile, tracked tanks, built around anti-armor
- 402nd “Whening’s Wraith’s”: Specialized hover tank division. Regularly refit to fit situational needs.
- 403rd “Rolling Fortress”: A battalion consisting of three Harazon Theater Superiority Tanks.
500th Mech Division
- 501st House Knights: Unlike other divisions, the 501st is dedicated to those who have been Knighted in the House. They are privileged to have their own coat of arms, and have their mech’s painted to their own liking within the boundaries of “The Law of Colour”.
- 502nd “Leather-Necks”: A light mecha division known for hit and run tactics. Fitted for anti-infantry and anti-light armor.
- 503rd “Woe Bringers”: Consists of a variety of heavy and assault oriented mechs. Deployed as needed per situation in both Siege and Anti-Mech actions.

Starship Weapon Descriptions:
Anti-fighter Repeater Laser Cannon: Fires in strobe-like fashion to conserve energy when firing at small maneuverable fighters and bombers. Conversely, repeated strikes from several batteries has proven highly effective at weakening energy based shields, and softening the hulls of battle ships, making it easier for munitions fire to deal more damage. 'High Amp' versions of this weapon push more energy per shot, allowing for quicker kills at the cost of slower recharge and fire rates.
Anti-Ship Laser Cannon: Fires a three second extremely powerful energy burst at a single point on an enemy ship causing extreme heat damage, and vaporizing metal. Highly effective at lowering energy shields.
Long Range Cutter Beam: The weaponization of a tool used for harvesting meteoric metals. Computer controlled high energy lasers hold a continuous beam on a target cutting entire sections out of a ship. This effect can be crudely imagined from it's gunnery crew pet name; “An Apple Corer”.
“Total Burn” Energy Stream Emitter: A non-standard, “desperation” weapon. This weapon pulls all the energy from the ship (except life support systems, as they are powered by it's own dedicated drive) to fire a 5 second immensely powerful beam capable of completely decimating anything in it's pat for several hundred thousand miles. In effect however, the ship effectively becomes “dead in the water”. Unable to defend itself, or move, it must wait for assistance, or for propulsion systems to slowly restore from solar energy collectors.
Plasphere Launcher: Plasma in it it's natural state is an extremely devastating heat weapon. However, in the void, that heat disperses rapidly, traditional making plasma based weapons extremely effective but only in close quarters. The Plasphere solved this problem. A Plasphere is essentially a small plasma generator that is rigged to overload milliseconds before impact with another object. This allows a device roughly the size of small car, to create plasma blast roughly the size of a soccer pitch, and hot as the core of a star. Rail-gun: Standardized across the known universe, the rail-gun shoots a solid round via magnetic force at hyper-velocity. The result of which is a round that deals devastating hull damage and rending with immense amounts of kinetic force.
Flakk Projectors: Modern technology used to prefect an ancient technology. Missile tube like constructs fire a spray of irregularly shaped, polished metal fragments into space in a given direction around a ship. This has several uses, the first of which being defense. Modern det4ector systems struggle to maintain a firm lock on a target surrounded by the shards. Second is against different energy and ballistics, solid ammo has it's path altered by the impact of the fragments while be weapons are dispersed off the reflective surfaces of the shards. The third advantage is against enemy fighters. The shards are large enough to cause catastrophic damage to the relatively lightly armored craft, and it creates an area of space that is nearly impassable.
Torpedo: Standard void based, self tracking ballistics. Highly effective against large star ships.
Stealth Torpedo: Much like a torpedo but carries a variety of dampeners, radar deflectors, and sensor jammers. Typically these torpedoes can only be detected within around 200 yards. Far too late for most large ships to make evasive maneuver to avoid the munition.

Baron Aldrin Noc’Teufel Affiation: House Tufel Homeworld: Hamara V Rank: Regency Baron
Born into the house of his father, Aldrin Teufel was granted a life of luxury. Taught at the finest schools of both academia and military strategy. Aldrin grew strong and intelligent, if not sheltered. In the culture of the house, all males, regardless of socio-political standing must enlist in the military at the age of thirteen for basic training. It was here that Aldrin began to come into his own.
During his second year of training, Hamara V was invaded by Tigred forces. The months that followed were some of the bloodiest fought in House Tufel history. Many romances have been written about the actions of Aldrin during this battle, though the Baron states that these accounts are purely “Flights of fancy written by those trying to make peace of the horrors of bloodshed.” The truth of the matter is that while the Baron himself took no command position, (still being below the rank of private) he did participate on the front line of several of the bloodiest, brutal attacks the planet faced.
After victory was assured and the Tigred invaders forced off world, Aldrin realized how dangerous the universe truly was. Record-Vids show a young Baron in the Hall of the Honored Dead, deep in thought, unmoving. His thoughts and experiences here would lead him to the actions he would take upon his rise to his father’s position of Baron.
Upon his 24th birth year, he was officially announced in the High Court as Baron Aldrin Teufel. Now, after years of waiting his carefully laid plan for the future of his Barony would be fulfilled. As his first action, he declared that the fear felt by the innocent dead at the hands of the Tigred, would be felt by all enemies of the Barony, and that the colors of the realm would be changed from Forrest and Gold, to Midnight and White. In addition to this, the armed forces would undergo a series of armor, doctrine, and aesthetic changes.
Overnight the military forces of the Baron went from a defensive minded force, to a highly aggressive “first response” army. The House Guard took on new roles, turning their purely defensive tactics, to the offensive. In addition, a new armored Calvary division was formed; the dragoon corps. These soldiers would rush forward into battle via heavily armored APC, and take the battle to the foe.
Soon there after, the barony entered an era of expansion to the surrounding systems, in the course of 20 years, the barony tripled in size and power. During this time, Adrin was given the prestigious surname title of Noc, given to those of military supremacy. Currently the Barony has a state of "Good Standing" in the High Court. During conflicts, Baron Aldrin Noc'Teufel is known to still fight at the front lines, wearing his distinctively colored armor.

My Models arrived today!
So I'm going to re-evaluate a few things:
1) The Mecha: I'd call it defiantly a Mid-sized mech, but it has some serious armor to it. I feel like it could go toe-to-toe with a heavy mecha. Will need to evaluate how to label this mech as it seems like it's very much on the border.
2) The infantry looks so awesome, I can hardly believe it. I need to see about dark grey/black wash for these guys. Any suggestions on how to go about that would be welcome as I'm not sure if GW carries that kind of wash, or if an ink would be better.
3) The APC's are exactly what I was looking for. Nice missile pods on the sides, decent AA gun on the turret (looks a flash suppressed 40 mm Bofors cannon). It has an automated anti-infantry defense gun, but it takes up too many slots for a transport to have all three.
Now a big question to anyone reading this: Brush sizes. What do you use? when painting 28mm, I used a 2/0 Pointer, but now with this size, that seems like more of an area brush than a detail brush. What would you suggest?
