... before getting my Dune on.
I made these for the CAV game, but I'm finding it hard to justify making models for a dead game, so I'm bringing them to the table here. Before you get on me about it; Yes I drastically screwed up weight values, and no there are no other profile images, (what you see is what I got).

“The right munitions, at the right price.”
–Company Moto
“We said ‘no’ to their offer, they merely thanked us for our time and walked away… how were we supposed to know they turned and sold their wares to the other side?”
– Final Statement at the court marshal of General Augustus, after a grievous defeat at the battle of Winter Point
“Shadow Markets Incorporated? Probably decided “Black Market” was too ol’ fashioned.”
- Pete “Leather Back” Willson, smuggler.
Shadow Markets Incorporated has no government affiliations, nor does it have any determinate place of origin. The fact is, very little is known to outsiders how Shadow Markets is run, however, what is known is that Shadow Markets Inc. (SMi) is not only the leading provider of controversial armaments, but is also one of the most wanted criminal organizations tolerated by the majority of governments.
SMi’s modus operandi hasn’t seemed to change in the past fifty years. It always proceeds as follows; During a large conflict between two or more forces on a planetary body, at exactly one hour and six minutes after sundown, the top most commander on the field will be approached by three to six individuals dressed in high business attire of which, the leader of this group insists to be addressed as “Associate” before their name. The Associate with then proceed to give an uncannily breakdown of the conflict so far and point out several dozen weak spots in the commander’s strategy. After this presentation, a data pad will be handed to the commander, which gives a list of SMi armaments that will be solutions to the problem. The commander is given a simple option, choose to purchase these tools of war, or send the Associate on their way with no repercussions. Little does the commander know but the same offer is being made on the other side of the battlefield as well.
This double dealing has earned SMi a negative reputation, however, the quality of their products can’t be discounted either. SMi promises merchandise that will compare so well to other munitions providers, “…you would think it was it’s shadow”. Currently, no government admits to harboring SMi or to knowing it’s origins or location.

The Real SMi
SMI is very much run like a large corporation, with a strict hierarchy. The leader of SMi is “The CEO” who owns and runs the company from the top down. Followed are several individuals who are known as “The Board” and are referred to as “Directors”. Directors are in charge of various elements of the company, from finances, to inventory. Next to them sit “Managers”, who directly control personnel. Next are “Associates” who are the face of the company, and are the salesmen. These are followed by “Employees” who do the various labor tasks of the company. All corporate defenses are done by “Security”, who do everything from patrols, to test piloting, all the way up to open combat if need be. Security is led by the “Security Director General” (or “SDG”). The last class is very remote, and known as “Agents”, these individuals infiltrate other companies and work their way to lead positions, before syphoning off thousands upon thousands of files relating to the competitors products and designs. Agents stay in the field for years before they are “killed in an unfortunate accident”. This is, however, just a cover to recall these agents for promotion in either the Security Division, or Manager Division after several weeks of earned vacation time.
SMi does not see itself as “criminal”, but as a company fulfilling a simple need and demand for victory. All members of SMi from the top to the lowest employee are treated with some of the best benefits of any corporation in the universe, with the only restriction that they tell no living soul who they work for, or where that work is located. And that would be very, very hard to do.
SMi has no planetary base of operation, or factory. The entire corporation is housed in a massive star ship known by the same name as the company. Very few have seen this factory ship and lived, and only a few have seen it in the distance and claimed to have seen a shining asteroid just before it jaunts away. The ship itself is roughly cylindrical, and bristling with hidden weapons for defense. It carries no fighters, however, as landing bays are entirely reserved for transportation craft. To defend from smaller strike craft, the ship has large networks of anti-fighter guns able to keep a constant hail of laser, and plasma fire on a target well outside the fighters own attack range. All these weapons make extensive use of SMi’s advanced targeting systems, refined even greater than those used in SMi sales. This ensures that SMi’s own weapons will be ineffectual against SMi.
As for mentioned the ship does not use conventional hyper-reality drives to move it for faster than light travel. The ship makes “Jaunts”, every 6 hours the ship chooses a random spot and using its special “Jaunt Engine” warps the space in a straight line between point A and point B, before letting space expand behind it. This gives the illusion that the ship is moving at a steady speed on the inside, while a passerby may glimpse it for just a moment before it completely vanishes.
This kind of randomized jaunting is perfect as neither the crew or pursuers can ever truly keep track of SMi’s movements. It also maintains a set speed of the craft, so that those working on the factory floors of the ship never feel the effects of jaunting, and can continue to work diligently.
SMi only rarely participates in full scale conflict, but when it does, it is usually defending it’s personnel during resource mining. Security forces are known for their royal purple soft gear and armor plating, sometimes incorporating black as a camouflage. Obviously, security forces only ever use the companies unique designs, of which are contain technology of a significantly higher quality than those they sell on the open market.
Below are the recorded mecha and armor that has been recorded, and further verified.
