I disagree with point 8... (I'm the opponent)
I have two 6 man squads of Soak 14 and one of 15, armed with SA weapons.
*... the points builder system clearly states (para 3, p48) 'a unit of 6 all carry same weapon', pay once. *
- If one squad type has to pay individually, all should - otherwise you have an unfair 2-tier system. Or one rule for one and one rule for another = unfair.
Squad Attachments are 1 or 2 upgrades, per 6 man squad and you pay for each - thats fine; but 6x the weapon cost when you've chosen to pay for heavy armour etc. doubles the cost of the squad. Way-overpriced! Their on table performance does not warrant the investment. They're already outnumbered 2 or 3 to 1 and I know from experience that they die just as quick as other Gruntz and mine only last as long as they do because of Auto-heal and Medic back-up.
Alternatives could be: an extra 5pts for a power-pack for the armour and no squad attachments. (simelar to two perkz.) Or all Gruntz pay for a weapon, eg: 6x rifles at 1pt = 6pts (3pts) or 6x SA Rifles at 5pts = 30pts (15pts).

The only other thing I can suggest is a separate weapons table for PA Gruntz - which means more work for the author?

My original plan with PA was to model it on the GZG power armour packs. It seemed sensible to kit the PA out with standard Gruntz weapons but allow x2 SA weapons. Thats how all the original play testing was completed. Basically the PA unit has the advantage of being heavier and able to take a pounding, whilst also benefiting from a couple of units with heavy support weapons. I am talking to Ian again about how we might adjust the Barracks system to cope with PA having 1 standard weapon for all the unit (like a standard Gruntz squad), with an option to buy individual SA weapons for squad members. Perhaps up to 3 SA weapons carried by the PA troops. Sample PA squad from GZG: - Note the two missile pods with the rest of the squad with built in suit weapons of a standard infantry class.

Well interestingly, Ian had already catered for the build where you select one standard weapon for the squad and then pick up to two SA weapons which matches my build process. So for now we are going to keep it as is.

Ah-ha - see that's different, and again it don't say it in da book =) The models I use are CMG's Blockhead Battle suits and the ARC fleet augments with plasma cannons. So I have 6 troopers with BFG's!! Even with soak 15, auto heal and a medic behind - they can't take a pounding? Mine have only lasted as long as they have because of the on-board NHS! And an assault missile - don't get me started...
