Great report and figures as usual Btw at half range missiles are -2 to hit, not no fire, but mortars and artillery are. Can't wait to see the next one

I'm afraid it's not that clear, Comstar. Page 25, under Indirect Fire, 4th paragraph says: "Indirect fire weapons have a disadvantage at short range. They are unable to target models at less than half the listed weapons range". On page 17 Indirect fire says "Weapons with the indirect fire ability include missiles or mortar based equipment...". However, under Vehicle Weapons on page 51, it does say that that missiles can fire within 1/2 distance at a -2.
We used IGOUGO.

I think they're referring to indirect missile fire attacks (i.e an artillery based unit modeled as having rockets/missiles), while direct fire LOS missile attacks take the minus 2 within half short range to simulate limited direction change at that range.

It's the later one for missiles even though they can fire indirect Have you tried alternating activation as it keeps both of you in the game and I think adds something to the game

This was how I read it too. Though as I have yet to play a game other than at Salute what do I know!
