Hey millsy, fantastic looking mini's, great paintjobs!!! I also like the backstory you've created for these guys to give them a bit of flavour, great stuff. Are you using Micro Set for your decals? In any case they look perfect to me in these pics you've provided. I know when I put a lot of effort into a model I get pissed and the slightest imperfection, but in the bigger scheme of things, it's nothing...maybe it's a case of that for you with your decals on these....because they look great to me.... Also, instead of the varnish imported from the US, have you tried Army Painter? I'm guessing you probably have but gave it the flick in preference for something else. In case you haven't tried it though, I've had some great success with it on some Battletech stuff I've done as well as some High Elves. The Combat Company dudes will have some if this stuff on your door step in a couple of days. Here's a couple of links to modeling diarys where I've used Army Painter dip (Dark Tone Shade in both cases) bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php/topic,17878.0.html www.ulthuan.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=36765

Hi twogunsblazing,
Thanks for the feedback mate. I know what you mean about imperfections right at the end. I'm using Micro Sol decal setting solution but willing to try other stuff. It's basically just white vinegar anyway.
I'm "importing" Future Floor Polish which is a key ingredient in magic wash. For some reason it is no longer for sale in Australia. I prefer not to used a tinted varnish at this scale because it can clog up the details at times. I do use a tinted varnish for my colonial natives (see my blog) but NOT Army Painter which is very expensive for what it is. Instead I use Cabot's Walnut Satin stain & varnish which does exactly the same thing at 1/3 of the cost.
Good to see another Aussie on here. Shame we're so far apart...
