Hi I played my first game of Gruntz last night at my club (Leighton Buzzard). We kept things very simple with three squads a side and two vehicles. Can I trouble folks with a couple of questions. In designing my light vehicles I was a little unsure about the size class of weapons for Light and scout vehicles. I'm assuming the Anti infantry and missile light weapons listed on page 51 can't be used but the Specialist weapons on page 50 and Squad attachment weapons on page 49 can be? Oh and Prone...... this seems a very important and useful condition, can troops go prone in woods (Light cover), buildings (Heavy cover)? One wonders if they would be able to see a target in cover. We quite enjoyed the game and could see it had some tactical depth which left us musing on the appropriate tactics, squad attachments, and vehicle design we need to use for our next battle Martyn S

Everything above that can only use the anti infantry weapons. Tanks, artillery and full size mechs can use equal to class size or lower. Personally I think support vehicles should be able to use anything at least a class size lower. It also seems to really limit the possible armaments for support vehicles. I am sure I read it but of course can't find it now, prone applies everywhere. Think of it as hunkering down into protected and good firing positions rather than lying flat if it helps.

Thanks Timsnoddy. Because rules are sometimes repeated in the rule book which is mostly a good thing I hadn't read the more detailed mech build rules on page 38 only the brief mention on page 51.
Hunkering down makes more sense I think I will refer to it as such in my games.
