I am really looking forward to both the Barracks and the 1.1 rules. I have a question about the barracks, is there a provision for multiple damage tracks for vehicles? I think I've seen one for specialists but not one for mechs and tanks. fewer cards means less clutter on the table... Thanks, Bob

I doubt that there would be room, outside of the absolute lightest vehicles.

More news on upgrade perks - if you have already purchased the PDF and Beta Barracks software perk you can now upgrade it to the full printed rules. There is also an option for all people that have pledged to send details of your favourite name for tuckerization and inclusion in the rules.

;D In more news, we've added some stretch targets where new features will be added to the software if funding reaches high enough. igg.me/p/96476?a=573191

$5,000 - Save & Reload
At $5,000 we’ll add the ability to save and reload unit cards in Barracks so that you can constantly tinker with a unit and even pass it on to other people that have Barracks.
I sure hope I am reading this wrong. If we don't get to $5000 you can't save your cards?

What will the output of Barracks be? Single, or multiple cards on a sheet of paper? Will the format still be that of collectible card-games so we can use deck-protector type sleeves?
The long awaited monster troop type will be part of V1.1, yes? But we need to hit a stretch-goal for them to be implemented as part of the Barracks Troop Builder?

The currently-funded version is for unit card creation - it'll let you choose a unit type, add all the various options while filling in the card, edit the names etc. This can then be exported to JPEG to be printed at a size of your choice. Fully editable/saveable/sharable unit files is going to take about double the development time that's already been planned/funded. It WILL happen, it's more a question of whether it gets funded and developed from the Indiegogo pledges or gets funded later on from sales of Barracks once it's released. Unfortunately with an interface where so many options affect other options it's not as simple as 'dump this data into a file, read the data in again later and display it' as you end up with a list of around 40 distinct steps to get the interface loaded up correctly for a unit. For example what's in the weapon slots is dependant on the number of mounts that have been purchased which is dependant on both the size and type of the vehicle. On top of that, the file format will need to be designed to work seamlessly between Windows and OS X, be sendable via email, storeable on webservers, cope with future unit additions etc. Long story short - I could hack together a quick save function but the files probably wouldn't be readable by future versions of the software, wouldn't allow repositioning/scaling of the unit image and it would need to be re-written properly down the line anyway. It's nice being able to give a more complete answer than the 500 limit in the IGG comments. While I'm at it, the amount of time and money for development is much more limited than it might look like - $2,875 sounds great until you take off a few percent for PayPal, another few percent for IGG and then the production and distribution costs for the 55 printed rulebooks that have to be paid out of the same pot of money. Postage costs alone are going to be hundreds of dollars/slightly fewer hundreds of pounds, the way international postage has gone recently. P.S. Sorry for the slow response, I've been out all day running Infinity intro/demo games and Robin's recovering from an overnight charity bicycle ride...
