Brilliant!!! It's the giant's causeway in space! Love your terrain posts, they always make me want to go and build more myself, keep em coming.

So simple, so pretty. I really like this idea. I thought "Giant's Causeway" too.
What are using for the base?

They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery, well consider yourself flattered I hope you don't mind but it's just such a cool idea, I had to try making one myself.

Why would I mind stroezie? Half the reason for posting stuff is so others can try something for themselves. I'm just pleased people think it was worth trying!
I must say you've done a great job. I was very tempted to do what you've done and put the cork in vertically so miniatures can move on them. In the end my reasons for not doing so was being able to double the number by cutting them in half plus wanting more barriers to movement from my stuff.
Either way its a simple idea with great potential IMHO.

Really good results from a clever idea there. Where am I going to get 100 corks from? I've got twin toddlers, I can't handle hang-overs as well!

Hmm. Can anyone think of an easy/cheap way to get hold of something that's hexagonal in cross-section?

Corking Hell! These are great and look amazing on the table, the only challange being drinking enough wine to collect the corks. If the great flood comes, you also have a chance to escape on wargames terrain. Or if it gets really hot, you can make one of those Aussie hats with the corks hanging down for the whole family!
Enough of the cork shenanigans. I will certainly be collecting some to get the same alien impact.
