I can't help but like this GZG hover tank. I have two that need airbrushing and think it is a stunning model. It is correctly scaled for 15mm and the turret is very neatly designed. I was going to paint mine in a dark green camo scheme to go with a Specialist Contact force I am putting together. It is a metal kit with a base hover skirt which builds up when connected to the hull and turret sections. shop.groundzerogames.net/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1430

GZG have a great range and I like the design a lot and bought three a few months back. However I find them slightly too small especially when I have Old Crow vehicles on the table that rather put them to shame. Furthermore the transports based on a similare chassy are way to small.
As I have them I shall use them but will be basing and raising them and they will be used as fast light and highly armed scout tanks.

I know what you mean about the size but I do think GZG make models closer to true 15mm. Some of the old crow models are very big. Having said that GZG does have some large 15mm vehicles like the wheeled hi-mobility ones. High Mobility Tanks WIP by inrepose, on Flickr L1030970 by inrepose, on Flickr

Actually, since "being small" is a design goal of military vehicles, most APCs are a lot smaller than you'd think. The M113 for instance is designed to seat 2 crew and 11 passengers and it is not very large en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M113_armored_personnel_carrier. The small GZG hovercraft APC i actually substantially larger than real life APCs if you do scale conversions. I use mine as a medium APC capable of transporting 16 guys.

GZG does do some great stuff. If their site featured painted models I would have bought from them a long time ago. I do really like the High Mobility tanks.

Yep, very true, a lot of military vehicles are quite small as to benifit from conceilment and light weight. However there are allso a lot of military vehicles that are quite large. APC's these days tend to be pretty tall because of the chassys being able to better deter IED's.
I like GZG a lot and think they have a great range. The high mobility vehicles are great and the crusties and drones and and and... well every thing is good. And I agree that it is correctly scaled just that if you are new to the hobby and are going to mix Old Crow and GZG beware as there is a diference.
In the end I think the choice of models is down to 'personal taste' and what you intend to do with them.

Old crow vehicles are huge. I have one of the wheeled APC's, and next to a 15mm LAV-25 it's ginormous, almost twice the size, and a LAV isn't small.
I have 3 of the GZG tanks at the top of the page which have been aibrushed in modern british colours, olive drab with broad very dark green, almost black, stripes. I need to detail and weather them. They go with the Athena transports from Brigade Games and NAC Troops from GZG to form my sci-fi British Army.

how big are the old crow halftracks compared to GZG vehicles? Will that look silly next to each other?

The halftrack is perfect against GZG. They work for me but I don't have any ready photos to share.

GZG does do some great stuff. If their site featured painted models I would have bought from them a long time ago. I do really like the High Mobility tanks. I totally understand. I would feel okay buying the vehicles, they just look so good to me. But the infantry was another matter altogether until I found Mini Metal Mayhem. He's got tons of painted GZG figs up and it gave me the confidence in the minis to buy a bunch despite GZG's website. And, Robin, GZG's hi-mobility models are just about my favorite miniature vehicles in any scale. The Paladin just makes me drool.
