Hi folks, was just wondering if there will be a hard copy of the rules out anytime soon, very new to this genre so i have probably missed any anouncements that there have been.
Have got the free download rules to start with, but ya cant beat a nice book held in ya sticky little mitts.
Thanks in advance.
Paul.

Is there a Hard Copy to be released still?
I also heard a new version was to be available for download soon (v1.1?)
I am just discovering this game and am very interested and excited to give it a shot!

Yes I am working on 1.1 tonight which will be the hard copy. I am desperately trying to reign myself in to avoid doing to much in the new version.

I second (or third, or whatever..) this request. A hard-copy version would be nice. And not a flimsy softcover version. A ultra heavy duty hardbound version.

Why do you need a hard cover book to a ruleset that is in constant change? I hope it won't stop developing after ver 1.1, I would rather like to see a copy easy on ink, so updateing would be possible.

Personally, I don't think the rules should be filled with "constant change". Reprinting v1.1, v1.1.1 etc is irritating, and I would much rather wait for a completely new edition or live with online errata pages.
The prevalence of PDF products has now made it more commonplace to distribute an unfinished or poorly playtested product initially then release updates, and this practice is indicative of shoddy production.
Note that I am definitely not including Gruntz in this category. Despite a few typos in the v.1 release, it's a well playtested, effective system.
Having a durable, well indexed and attractive colour book at a gaming table is an asset, especially as most people playing a miniatures game either don't have a computer handy or are already overburdened by pieces of unbound paper.

Gruntz is one man creation so I doubt its possible to adress all issues in short period of time, also community has huge impact on what would need changing, which in long run could make it even better. I wouldn't mind to print it out (plain text and some graphs in black&white) and update the pages that had some changes, and I think there is (and will be) lot of things that will require changing sooner or later, and I don't mind this.
Its a good thing that hard cover book is comming out for people that like shiny things on their table, but for me if its not working as it should, its still crap no matter how well presented it is. Thats why I didnt started Wh40k, just doesnt apeal to me (as a strategy game).

The 1.1 release is simply an opportunity for me to tidy a few glaring issues up which needed to be fixed before I would be happy to make it a print copy. Hopefully nothing too major to disrupt the core game but enough extra info to make it better for print.
I don't then intend to touch it for some time and hope I can get a break from updates to focus on new things and promotion.

And this is why I intend to buy a hard copy of Gruntz. . .
I expect it will look lovely when it's perfect bound and trimmed. My spiral bound copy is trimmed, but because there's no bleeds on the PDF, it's nearly impossible to get it looking as good as I know it can.

From a publishers point of view you are right, I bet hard copy will help you promoting Gruntz, havent thought about it that way.

Have you had some second-hand editing done on your latest version? My name is printed in a few rulesets (most recently, Unbridled Fury), and I'd be willing to do a check if you needed (I assume most of the errors Ive caught in v1.0 are already known to you).
Anyway, going through the Army Builder v2.0, I found a few errors. Under "Barracks", the Close Combat Weapon: Small returns "N/A". The formula for Specialists didnt include cells D2 and D3. That's all for now...
