I am attempting to plan some of my force purchases and need some help.
To start off my 15mm Gruntz armies I have ordered up a platoon of Khurasan Federal toops, with a platoon sized force of Tigrid aliens to be their OpFor.
I have a mech for my Feds on the way, and will be supplementing them at some point with smaller VIPR mechs from Rebel miniatures, and some grav IFVs and tanks.
For my Tigrid OpFor, I am leaning towards picking up some of the excellent looking CMG Protolene Ayame suits, a Marrok suit or 3, and maybe some of their quadruped walkers.
I have a question about sizing on the Ayame suits. I intend to use them as shielded shock vehicles to punch through lines to be exploited by their infantry or heavier vehicles.
Does anyone know if they are supposed to be a worn or crewed suit? They look almost too small for a Protolene to crew unless really bunched up in the torso, and not at all viable as a worn suit due to dimensions of the legs and hips.
This is mainly for background fluff. I intend to pick up the suits anyway as they are great looking.
I just want to know how to flavor them. My thoughts are as piloted suits with full Tigrid warriors inside, cyborg style suits with the remains of Tigrid warriors grafted into them if they are too small to fit a full warrior, or maybe robotic drones with AI pilots under a force leader's command.
Any thoughts?

Ok I playtested CMG's rule set and use CMG Protolenes in my games; as far as I know the Ayame battle/assault suits are worn/crewed by one protolene sitting in the chest area.

Yes they are worn and have a small visor slit.

Thanks! That is exactly what I needed to know. I guess they're pretty bunched up in the torso?
Also... since you've used the CMG rules.... what are the differences in each style of suit?
I'm leaning towards the Predator suits with the jump packs, with maybe a Khan suit or 2 for backup/ECM usage.
One more thing, do you think the suits are of a suitable size to allow magnet usage for arm weapons? I notice several SKU's come with 3 different arm sets. I'd like to be able to change configs if possible.

I built the suits with different weapon profiles but the same spec as far as size etc. There are some differences which you can see in the cards here : www.gruntz.biz/p/downloads.htmlCraig at CMG checked these builds before they were finalised so they are on track with what they wanted from them for their own system.
