Got to play my first game yesterday and had a couple issues come up that I wasn't sure how to resolve.
1. I have 3 Gruntz in short range and 3 in long range firing at the same unit. Said unit has two models in short range to my three and four models in long range to my three. I fire the short range shots and get three hits. Do I lose one of these hits since only two targets were in short range?
2. If I use the card activation option for initiative and I move a vehicle flank speed do I keep the -2 defense bonus through one turn or until the next activation of that vehicle?
One observation. Ranges felt really short. I would think a 10" range for most main rifles and a -2 penalty for shooting at long range would feel more right to me but admittedly I may need a few more games under my belt.

From my current understanding of the rules the answers are: 1. Yes, but you didn't have to shoot all 3shots at short range. According to the rules each model shooting, should nominate a target MODEL, not unit! As there is, usually no point in picking out Leaders or Attachment models, as they are automatically replaced, then we all tend to shoot at a target unit, to speed things up. In your example you have effectively chosen to take 3 shots at the target models at short range, so if all 3 hit, you would only get the 2 possible kills. (Again, by the letter of the rules you should have nominated 1 shot at 1 model and 2 at the other). However, you could have chosen to take 2 shots at the closer models, and the 3rd shot at one of the longer range targets, with the additional -4 modifier of course. Then if all 3 had hit you would have got all 3 kills.
2. I have not used the card activation system, but I would say you keep it until the vehicleis next activated. My reasoning is that the models don't actually come to a complete stop, and wait around twiddling their thumbs, between activations even though that is what they appear to do to us! They are actually in constant movement, we just break that up into timeslices to allow us to move the other models an appropriate distance in that same timeslice, aka turn.

I agree with the above this also happens with alternate activation as well with any unit Sorry must of missed this thread or I would have tried to answer earlier
