I have some ideas for a primitive alien race so ended up with Lhurggs from Khurasan. With this primitive race lacking advanced weaponry the stats for Assault will be high in comparison to other races. I'm considering to give them the perk that allows for 10 gruntz in a squad so you end up facing something similar to this - To support the primitive nature of the race armor is not allowed but instead the race depends on animals as 'support vehicles' so you end up with something like this - And another comparison for size with some mechanoids I'm working on as reinforcements for my human faction - I've also experimented with magnets for added variability for some old crow vehicles - and Installing the magnets was relatively simple with the right equipment but since I rushed it a bid the magnets are not always aligned but I think this can be corrected relatively easily. Next steps some further work on the vehicles and being creative with 'green stuff' followed by priming and painting.

Love your idea, but even that they don't have tech it doesnt mean that they cannot shoot. Evolution could equip them in means to deal some ranged damage, spiting acid? sonic waves? etc. think about this, cause even that you'll have 10 in a squad they will be gone before reaching target. Let us know what's your progress

Yep. Initially a primitive race with some features to balance the 'assault only' ability. But being a race capable of quickly adapting to modern warfare I was thinking of giving them, in limited quantities, LRAD's - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Range_Acoustic_Device - to disorganize the enemy before the assault. Depending on how the rules will work out the impact is likely similar to stun.
