Over the holidays I ordered 5 sets of Proxie Models' Gothic Building.

These are $4 each, so I bought 5 to see what I could do with the kits. The first one I built was just the single model. The building is roughly 2 inches squre by 3 inches tall. There are four wall panels per sprue - two regular walls and two with doors. The sprue also contains two sets of steps to lead up to the doors. The model is made of solid black plastic, and cuts off the sprue easily and cleanly. Each level on the inner wall has a good ledge to glue or place a piece of styrene for a floor. They have a similar ledge for a roof. For my models I glued pieces of black styrene for the two floors and roof. If you want to put models inside the building you could rig it up to make them removable. I also added a piece of textured styrene I had on hand to give the roof a grid pattern. You could certainly add more details to the roof, but I figured models would need the surface to stand on, so I kept it simple.
For the second building I combined two kits and made it longer - three panels wide and one deep. This configuration used all the pieces of both kits with no left over. I did the same thing with styrene on each floor and roof.
To paint them all I did was hit the white styrene with Krylon Flat Black, then the entire model with Krylon Gray Primer. I drybrushed with a lighter gray, then a goose feather. Very simple, but the hard lines and edges really pick up the drybrushing to good effect.
I have about ten pictures of the kit and the two buildings I made so far, but instead of putting them here I'll link to my Photobucket album:

I would highly recommend this building kit. Great model, easy to assemble, reasonably modular, and a great value for the money.
