Thank you for the pictures Robin. I still think it's is a beautiful model. One thought is to cover the rougher areas. Perhaps with plastic card to make it look like explosive reactive armor (ERA) plates. It can be covered in green stuff, or putty, and textured to look like a special coating. In Sci-fi terms this is a special radar absorbing, laser inhibiting, coating. It adds to the tanks stealth feature. Those are some thoughts. Thanks

Good idea with the ablative plating. I think you can get away with them staying a bit rough looking though. It looks like rough metal on the actual 15mm model. The only difficulty is painting and airbrushing, where washes and getting a good base coat is a little hard with a texture but certainly not impossible and you could get very good results with a bit of effort even if the model has a rough finish due to the 3d printing not being cleaned up.

I had some flash on my Siler and the APCs as well, which I simply mucked up to make it look like mud on the vehicle. Besides, filing resin is BAD for you! At this scale, I didnt think much of it.

Rules-wise this sort of thing would be like the Force field for Guard. It adds to Guard until you successfully bounce a shell off of it.

Just noticed this thread when googling for something else. Just some input, sorry for the necro. The prints of our vehicles have all be cleaned so that print lines are no longer an issue going forward. The current masters for all of our vehicles are clean. If you'd like to see an example, have a look at this print: And that is a 28mm model! Believe me, if print lines will be visible on anything, it's that. In fact, if I get castings that have not been cleaned, I do not sell them. (This was the case with several vehicles which have been held up indefinitely as a result -- the vehicles I market in 6mm scale were also supposed to come out in 15mm, but the caster, who assured me he could clean all the lines off, failed to properly do so, and so they will not be sold until the masters can be fully cleaned.) Someone wrote above about "flash" and on resin kits there will sometimes be remnants of the gates that are used to pour the resin into the mould. That is the next battle, and I am happy to report that we are making strides there too. For instance, some of the vehicles have their resin poured into the bottom, to prevent the cleanup of gates that are on the vehicle's surface. The Siler has a separate rear plate now to help make the gates less visible. The Federal Medium Tank and Heavy APC will be very nice castings indeed -- completely free of print lines, and I've hired a better resin casting to make essentially flawless castings. The painting castings are on their way to me, quickly followed by the sales castings -- expect to see all four (the grav and tracked tank, the grav and tracked APC) in a month or less! Thanks for popping in Jon - That vehicle master looks amazing and very clean and I wish I had ordered some this week when I bought the new mega alien model. Have you cleaned up the big dropship? It is on my soon-to-order list!
