Just a couple of quick questions on this one. 1) If a self repair droid repairs a damage on a critical box, are destroyed systems also repaired? 2) I'm guessing that you roll for critical damage every time you check off a critical box, regardless of how many times that box is damaged / repaired? Self-repair systems are very prolific in the CAV setting.

The way I do it if you go back past a critical box you get a normal repair roll (as per specialist) it's not in the rules par say but seems to work in all the games I've played. The only thing we do if a system is hit twice it can't be repaired as it has been destroyed!

I think you would get the same as an engineer i.e. Repair the Critical or repair damage. So even if you repair 4 box's of damage that pass a critical it does not repair the Critical damage. However you can choose to repair just the critical damage and not the damage box's. A bit of a trade off between fixing critical system failures or sorting out damage box's which could result in a vehicle having a longer life.
Very happy to consider Comstar's option though. I think auto reapair systems will play a major role in any development of mecha rules to allow for more auto-reapair and damage control systems.

I've not messed about with too many Droids as of yet, but I think I like Robin's method better as otherwise why choose Engineer in a Droids list? It seems to me that the option to repair the boxes or the critical system matches the current points total for the Perk better.
When the Rules evolve to include auto-repair and "Advanced Damage Control System" Perkz/Modz I can see revisiting the issue. I also can see Droids with the Self-Repair Perk and ADCS Perk being able to do both, it's been "paid" for.
