Hey everyone, I am a current warmachine player, former infinity player, and newcomer to the 15mm scene. I found the rules because I'm a big fan of collecting cheap but quality rulesets. I was looking at buying some 15mm Khurasans and stumbled upon a post the Khurasan guy had written about what people use his minis for, and expecting to see Fubar (what I was planning on), I saw everyone posting that they use Gruntz. Well, a few reviews later and it was a no brainer purchase. I bougt the rules, spec ops add-on, and barracks for about $12 total. Can't beat that deal! And, for a warmachine player I think this game translates really well...
I'm awaiting my Khurasan figs to be shipped, but in the meantime I'm working out a scenario to play the game with. I'm mainly a solo gamer (noone I know is really into this hobby) so it'll be something like extracting a hostage from a building, utilizing blips for enemies where I roll a d3 to see how many there are, etc.
I'm thinking my squads will deploy in camo as a token until they are discovered (a cool tactic from my infinity days). I haven't fleshed it out yet, but I will soon, and maybe post it here with a AAR or something.
I have a few rule questions while I'm here:
What happens when an activating squad gets suppressed by reaction/overwatch fire before they get to do their 2 activation steps?
Does that suppression affect their ability to perform their activation, or do they get to complete their shooting/assault?
Does the defending unit who is reacting (not-overwatch) choose when to fire at the assaulting unit, or do they fire at the start point of the assaulting unit? If the assaulting unit is further away then the weapon range stat (i.e. at 9ins compared to weapon range stat of 8ins) then there would be a -3 penalty, if they wait until the unit is within the range stat this would be removed.
