We played a 300 point encounter battle last night. I fielded a force based around the Laserburn Imperial force, while my mate Steve fielded his disco aliens (his words not mine). You can read the report and see some photos on my blog at: ooh-shiny-complex.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/gruntz-aar-battle-for-discoville.html I very quickly stopped taking photos because I got too excited about the game! Thank you. I still have a lot of work to do on the terrain, but it is coming together slowly.

Looks like a cracking fun game I always used the alternating activation which i think speeds the game up. Never used the Igougo at all for Gruntz. For small games the cards are great fun to use but for large games seemed to slow it down for me. Glad you had fun and hope you get some more play time soon Cheers Matt

I can imagine how actively assigning cards would slow the game down, and would probably involve dithering and indecision on the part of both myself and my opponent. Still, I think the slowed game would be worth it for the increased decision-making and active gaming. We'll just have to tailor our force sizes to suit the method of command and time available.
Our next game is likely to be in July, so plenty of time for me to actually read the rules!
