The assault results on pg 29 are a little confusing and some seem to contradict those of the chart on pg 31 (v1.1) so could somebody clarify the following scenarios.
Squad A assaults squad B. Final score is 1 A grunt waxed and 2 B grunts waxed. According to pg 29 squad B must make an unmodified mental check unless they have lost more than half of the squad, in which case it is a condition brown with a +2 modifier. On the chart the loser makes a condition brown check and that's it. Which one is correct?
Squad A assaults squad B. The final "score" is 2 grunts each waxed. Both sides must therefore make a mental roll/condition brown roll (see above)?.
a) Both squads pass - both squads remain in close assault? Both squads suppressed? (the rules on pg29 are a little weird - "A draw results in both squads making a mental check. If the loser (what loser - it's a draw) succeeds….they are suppressed and stay in place.")
b) One squad passes the mental check, one squad fails. Loosing squad run and becomes suppressed, winning squad stays (suppressed)?
c) Both squads fails the mental check. Both squads run and become suppressed?
Squad A is activated and assaults squad B (who have yet to be activated). Final result is a draw and both squads remain in place having passed their mental checks/condition brown rolls. Squad B is now activated. They assault squad A - if this means moving unengaged squad B figures into contact, can squad A react fire?
As above, but squad B loose the assault, however they pass their mental check/condition brown roll. They remain in place but suppressed. On their activation it presumably takes one action to remove the suppression, therefore they could only assault with what figures remain in contact or can they move any unengaged squad figures into contact?
I'm assuming that if squad A lost the assault but pass the subsequent mental check/condition brown roll, they remain in place, suppressed, and squad B can assault on their activation with no reaction from squad A?
Finally (you'll be glad to hear), squad A assaults squad B (who have already been activated). Result is draw & both squads remain in place. Presumably the first squad to be activated in the next turn can then carry out another assault. Can the unactivated squad react fire if the activating squad moves any engaged figures into contact?
