Hi,
My name is Ruarigh and I am a wargamer. I've had Gruntz for ages but only recently got around to reading the rules. They read well, and I'm looking forward to trying them out in the near-ish future. I am busily trying to persuade my regular opponent that 2016 should be The Year of SciFi instead of our usual mishmash of a bazillion different fads. I have a couple of painted 15mm scifi armies: GZG New Israelis with tracked and wheeled support as a mid-tech army, and Laserburn Imperials with grav support as a high tech army. Both have in excess of 1000 points of Gruntz troops in them, and the Laserburn Imperials are still a work in progress so the size could double when I add the power and dreadnought armoured platoons to it. I also have a much smaller Laserburn Colonial Police force. I've not statted it up under Gruntz yet but I imagine it would be good enough for small games versus gangs of organleggers. There is a Laserburn Redemptionist Rebel force awaiting painting too. It's been awaiting painting since about the mid-eighties, so hopefully a Gruntz fad will see it finally completed. I've been a Laserburn and Imperial Commander gamer since the early eighties, as my various armies might indicate, so I shall be looking at ways to model the forces from those rules in Gruntz.
Cheers, Ruarigh

Ok, pictures, eh? Well, this is a platoon from the Bwendi army (GZG NI plus support): There's more and bigger pictures on my blog here: ooh-shiny-complex.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/the-bwendi-republican-army-in-24th.htmlOddly enough, I the militia in the photo at the bottom of the post are currently MIA. They are somewhere in the house, I think, but I have no idea where right now. Still, I do have two more platoons of the regular infantry plus their rides, and the armoured platoon to support them, plus some scouts. I need more air support though, and maybe some orbital artillery.

This is the core of my Laserburn Imperial force, a full Imperial Assault group in grav sleds: There's a couple of more photos on the blog here: ooh-shiny-complex.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/imperial-assault-group-laserburn.htmlLooking back through the posts about Laserburn, I see figures that I know I sold off, and some that may have been put in a safe place, and which I can no longer find. I really need to curate my collection at some point in the near future. If only I did not have to keep so much of my wargaming stuff hidden from my wife!

My pleasure. I'm working on the Imperial Scouts at the moment and wondering how to translate the Laserburn ToE into a Gruntz one but that's a question for a different part of the forum. I really need to get more and better photos of my stuff though. Really looking forward to trying Gruntz. Now that I have read the rules, I think it will suit me nicely, especially with the card activation system. I like games that generate friction through the command system.
