A long time gamer friend and I are getting into Gruntz finally. The concept of being able to field what you want and create themed armies is something we couldn't ignore.
I was wondering what settings you Commanders of Fate have come up with? I'm working on an abandoned "Earth that Was" concept where a dying Earth is abandoned and after a few hundred years an advanced Earth ship arrives i conflict with an alien craft. The colonists hold no ties to Earth and see it as a source for elements and begin a conquest of Earth and the solar system. The people of Earth join with the aliens and begin a struggle to allow Earth that Was to not be ravaged by its far-flung children.
Lame or OK?

Creating armies is what drew me to the game also.
That's a cool concept. It'll allow you to pull from different figure lines.

It sounds okay to me. Do what you like best is my motto.
My setting is my own "Wild Galaxy". In it humanity started to spread across the stars. During this time there is many wars amongst the colonies. Then came the GELF (Genetically Engineered Lifeform) wars and later the simulant/droid wars (ideas nicked from Red Dwarf) which destroyed many worlds. Both of these home grown enemies are thought to have perished but some escaped beyond human space in a area known as GELF space.
Later Earth is destroyed in by some unknown incident. The moon is lost drifting way. The solar system is ravaged. The human empire spins out of control. Some worlds are lost or forgotten (giving me a chance to do rescue or exploration missions). Many new kingdoms are founded. These grow and set up new colonies. Some worlds become independent and are under constant pressure to remain so. Meanwhile human space expands and starts to encroach on GELF space. Then the pirate raids start wiping out whole colonies..

Mine is very much a hotch potch of different ldeas. Human wise i use a very loose incarnstion of the tuffly verse (GZG dirtdide / statgrunt universe) with corporations getting in the way (aliens unverse). With one of my alien forces having well Zenomorphs and a large overlord race leading them and some other creations breakaway packs which have a Queen leading them for there swarm. I will have soon a mercinary force of specilist which are Preditors! Then there is my Lizard race which has grown into a huge force and is my favorite. It has several spliter groups which grow different Lizards for different missions (think Aracnids from starship troopers but lizards) but the standard Lizard is small about two thirds the hight of a human (I use Kalista 10mm Lizards Sifi and Fantasy figures) and add other relevent grown creatures (Mon poc figures, kids toys and many more) this gives a nice theame to them and can have them fighting themselves as well Just thought I never give names to things that must change

Anyone doing a narrative campaign set in a Post-Apocalyptic world or Lawless Fringe World with war bands fighting for control?
