I was wondering if the rules would support AOE effects like smoke. Maybe via some new weapon type. It seems to be something quite common in other game systems and would fit well with something like Gruntz.

It could be used by artillery and grenade launchers (or even vehicle with launchers or Gruntz using grenades) and suppose it would ether add +1 Guard or block LOS to target depending on type of smoke

Maybe its like this: Fire smoke shell and place round smoke template (not sure about diameter). It will block LOSbut you can fire through it with -3 or -4 penalty. ANd you cant fire through smoke at long ranges, only at close ranges. Smoke will last only 1 turn and MUST be removed at next activation of player who placed smoke (so maybe players should place some kind of marker to determine who placed smoke...)

I was considering using something like the normal AOE/Grenade rules but blocking LOS. Maybe with a larger template area as smoke tends to cover a wide area quite quickly.
