When an infantry squad shoots, is it: 1. Individual models shooting at individual models (designated before dice rolled)? 2. Individual models shooting at whole squads 3. Whole squads shooting at whole squads?
The reason I ask this is: Say a squad of 6 shoots at a squad of three and scores three hits. If I'd allocated two shots per target model and one target model was hit twice, that means two waxed figures. If the shooters were just firing at the whole squad, that would be three waxed figures.
Which is it?

Well in theory it can be both! The stardard rules are that any model can shot at any other single model so a single Grunt can shoot at any other eligible model and that model is removed if waxed. Doing it this way can be a bit confusing. But you the shooter decide who is shooting who. What it also says is that you can fire squad against sqaud this works as long as no other modifiers are in play then role bucket of dice and see what hits then your opponent removes models simple. I always use the first method when squads are in cover etc as each model may have a different guard second if im using for example let rip then just give them too many (hopefully) hits They play just like Warmachine in that way but if you played 40k i can see the issue of understanding. Think of it that every model you have on your side that can shoot , can do that to any of your opponents force as long as its in range and los. Hope that helps
