This was a scenario where both sides were desperately trying to capture a remote relay. The Aliens so that they could seize and destroy it, thereby denying the humans the continued use of the relay facility, and the Commando's so that they could continue to use the facility in their efforts to wrestle control of the planet back from the Aliens.
Terran Commando's (my son) - 297 points
1 x Medium Mech
1 x Terran Commando Commander
2 x Terran Commando Squads
2 x Terran Commando IFV's
Aliens (me) - 196 points
2 x Aliens Brood Lords
4 x Aliens Warrior Broods.
Objectives:
There were three objectives. The centre relay facility and the two towered power units. To control an objective a unit must be;
1) within 2" of the objective,
2) have no enemy units within 6" of the objective,
3) unbroken,
4) on the surface continually since the end of turn 5.
Deployment:
After all scenery was placed, the two towered power units were placed, one each by myself and my son. They had to be placed within your opponents half of the board. Units were deployed in an alternating fashion, with the loser of a 2d6 roll-off deploying the first unit. After all units were deployed, me as the Aliens player, could then place up to two tunnel entrances anywhere on the board. I placed one each near the two towered power units so my Aliens Warrior Broods travelling beneath the surface could use them to launch assaults at any Terran Commando's trying to sit on, or near, the objectives.
This was a really fun game, and even though I tried to make use of as much cover as I could on my approach, I took some heavy casualties/damage closing on the objectives, however in the second half of the game, I started to catch up on some of the damage I took. Grav vehicles are so maneuverable that they are extremely difficult to hide from...those IFV's kept moving to get good angles on my big Brood Lords, nailing them with their 20mm Chain Guns...the 80mm Rail Guns on the Medium Mech hurt too!

End of Turn 6
So, by the end of the game, I had two Alien Warriors left on the board, they were both sole survivors from separate Broods. This meant they could both claim an objective each, however only one was in a position to do so.
The Terran Commando's had the Commander (who was Broken at the time the game ended), a lightly damaged IFV and an undamaged Medium Mech.
I had a single Alien Warrior attempting to claim the relay facility itself, however his control over it was contested by the IFV being within 6". The IFV was within 2" of one of the towered power units, so claimed that as an objective. My son would have been able to claim the other towered power unit as a captured objective had he not become too focused on killing Aliens Warriors on the last turn and made a move away from that objective, taking him more than 2" away from it.
A really fun and exciting game
