Suppression applies to the entire squad, right? So what if one squad of six gruntz, all armed with stun rifles, shoots at members of an enemy gruntz squad and gets, say, four hits? Does the target gruntz squad receive four Suppression counters? That will take a long time to recover from! This kind of "deep" suppression seems pretty useful. Also, is the "-1 to Guard" cumulative?
Alternately, if any stun hit after the first is ignored, then it seems like a waste to equip an entire squad with stun weapons.

I see what you are saying, and have never really looked at Stun weapons before. After reading it just now, I'm guessing, just like normal suppression, only a single suppression token can be placed, regardless of how many times a Stun weapon hits a model in the squad. I also think that the -1 Guard would only apply a single time.
I guess the only reason to have several stun weapons, would be if the first missed. I suppose you are essentially buying extra stun weapons for the sole purpose of ensuring you stun your target by having multiple chances to do so.
A thought has just entered my mind now that you have it thinking about stun weapons and how they work. If only half the models of a squad are in LOS of the firer (say half the squad outside a building and half inside a building), is it really right that the entire squad is stunned?
