Howdy,
I've been looking for new wargame alternatives to replace my old GW addiction. I stumbled across mention of this game and the more I read the more intrigued I became. So I bought the PDF this weekend and I'm liking what I'm seeing.
I've not ever played a 15mm scaled game previous to this though I've tried my hand at Heavy Gear Blitz (12mm) but have not been able to wrap my noggin around the rules. Malifaux has been a winner, but I'm ever drawn to Sci Fi over the fantasy/steampunk'ish feel of that game and Warmachine. So here I am.
Thoughts so far: -I really like the way this game doesn't restrict itself to any one line of miniatures. Unit builders that allow you to shoehorn pretty much any model into the system is a very welcome change to what I'm used to.
-The rules seem pretty good so far. I haven't read through them in a systematic way to try and absorb the whole thing. I've been having more fun trying to sort out the unit builders, going back and reading the bits of the rules that let me understand what I'm building. but what I have read appears to be quite easy to comprehend.
-There are some confusing/contradictory bits in the Gruntz Unit builder and in the text regarding weapon options for Scout and Light Vehicles. Is there an official Errata document posted anywhere yet?
Thanks for exposing me to a whole new world of wargaming.

Welcome to Gruntz and hopefully some of us here can talk you through any problems Quite a few of the lighter vehicles cannot use the larger vehicle weapons (I'm at work so no rule book close) but the "Anti Personel" weapons are effectively the light vehicle weapons (they got renamed going to V1.1) also the specialist weapons can be used also. Hope this helps if not post your problems and hopefully one of us here can help if not Robin

I've decided to build a Badlands Raider force based off Rebel Mini's Saladeen figures. So building some units to represent them is what I'm doing right now.
So far things seem to be going okay for the Infantry after reading all the discussion regarding the Squad Attachment text.
The one where I'm a little thrown off is my attempt at building unit stats for the Gila dune buggy model and the Viper light mech models. The weapon options available for scout and light vehicles being confusing.
So what does a main weapon mount allow me to use and how is that different from an anti-infantry mount for Scout and Light Vehicles? I'm not certain I understand which gives me Vehicular scale AI Weapons and which Allows me to use SA and S scale weapons.
Thanks, -DavicusPrime

Thanks again for signing up. Without going into the detail and easy way to work through the build process is to either use the Barracks unit creator application (available on Wargames Vault) which would allow you play around with the design of those models or use Gruntomatic which is free, on the web and lets you also build units within the size classes.

Once I found Gruntomatic, unit building has become much easier. Between the book's descriptions and gruntomatic's drop-downs showing me what is available and doing the number crunching I'm finally getting some where.
I really like the fact that Gruntomatic allows all the users to save and share their creations with the other users. Once I test my Sahadeen on the table, I'll be publishing their cards.
