I had stumbled onto 15mm by accident while attending Historicon last year. I had seen all kind of Mech games setup and being displayed but had trouble talking to anyone about them as I was there on the last day and hunting down specific models. But happened to hear someone mention Gruntz. After stalking a few websites I came across the forum and found the rule set. Just bought it this week and have to say this is the best game I have seen in a long time.
I always enjoyed 40k gaming but have gotten a bit tired of the cost and constant rule changes that seem to tailor to "new releases". So this is a welcomed break.
So with the rules in hand I placed an order the other night with Khurasan Miniatures and was pleasantly surprised to hear from someone within minutes that my order would ship. I assumed that this was a automated response until I emailed back got a response back almost immediately. This is what helps drive people to a new game system.
That and what I have seen on the forum helps just as much.

Welcome!
I think you'll find, compared to 40k, 15mm minis are not only MUCH cheaper, but faster and easier to paint, as well.

I grew up out your way, what part are you from? I have lived near Pittsburgh in a small town called Indiana, PA. Currently I live in another small town called Pottsville, PA. (Home of Yuengling Brewery, which I am only two blocks from.) I am about 2 hours north of Philadelphia. What figures did you end up ordering? I ordered up the ones that appear to look like colonial marines and several APC's. I would love to get my hands on a dropship and might prototype one at home when I get a chance after my order arrives. I think you'll find, compared to 40k, 15mm minis are not only MUCH cheaper, but faster and easier to paint, as well. I have been dabbling in Flames of War and have been enjoying that scale greatly. I use to play epic so I really love the feel this gives being slightly bigger.

Nice! I went to IUP a few years back in 2006-2007 before moving to indy. I used to do a painting clinic at Master Crafted games when they were around. My family is from the Lancaster area.
