GW just hiked their prices again. Time to save money.
What you need: - Empty paint pots (very clean, or you can find these at some hobby stores.) - Pledge acrylic and linoleum floor polish with "future shine" - Distilled water - Paint
First thing you need to do is mark your paint pot so you can measure out 10the equil parts. I suggest only going up to where the screw cap starts so you can easily skake-mix the formula.
Next add 1/10 Pledge.
Then, add 3-4/10 of the color you would like. Make it a dark shade of that color.
Mix these together with a pencil or what have you.
Last add the distilled water to the 10/10 mark.
Shake, apply heavily to your model. Enjoy.
If ths mix is too heavy or loose just adjust the Pledge to your preferences.

I've put a BB in each of my bottles to help shake up the wash

Try Army Painter brand too... their strong tone matches the old Devlan Mud.
I really like them, and reasonable prices too.

I paid ~$8 for the above (using the $0.67 acrylic from the hobby store) and have now experimented successfully with 30ish different washes. I have made only the tiniest dent in my Pledge.

Instead of Army Painter try Minwax Polyshade Woodstain. The type in the yellow cans. Works just like quick shade but it's about 1/4 the price.
