I got interested in the Gruntz ruleset through a post over one the Lords of the Battlefield site.
After mentioning it on my gaming group's site I discovered that a few of the other members were already playing with some of their friends and a couple of other guys were also intrigued.
While waiting for all of my infantry to arrive I broke out my long neglected airbrush and gave it a go on some of my support models.
Transport:
That's a 1/144 Colonial Space Marines APC from Aliens. I have 3 more of these babies waiting their turn for some paint.
Light Mecha:
These are HMR suits from Rebel Minis' Titan Marines range. I'll also be using the Titan Marines as my Gruntz
Assualt Mecha:
These are Mechwarrior scale Daishis sculpted by a very talented gent over at LotB. I'd wanted a reason for a very long time to pick up a couple of his casts, Gruntz is the perfect excuse.
I converted the one to carry the assault cannon, it's made from brass rod and plastic strips. (Totally swiped this idea from Spaceman Spiff)
The Reason I Took the Plunge:
Robin's photo of his Madcat on the bridge totally sold my on this game. Any game where I can have an excuse to buy a model this cool gets my money.
I showed my wife Robin's model and told her how cool I thought it was. She innocently asked me what model it was, and then she ordered me one for my birthday
So the PBI is next, then it's on to the last few APCs and I'm pretty much done with this force.
I was thinking of detailing the mechs and vehicles with some Klingon characters for kicks, but I kind of like them as they are.
C&C is always appreciated and encouraged.
Thanks
