I agree that having to move the full move is not a good rule and I'd like to see it changed in this errata, which is why it was brought up.
However, whether or not it's a mistake, I don't know. It's certainly not a typo and it exists in both version 1.0 and 1.1 of the rules. Any person wanting to understand how a vehicle rams will likely go to the Vehicle Rams section (as you would expect) and find this ruling that has existed in both published versions of the rule book, which leaves absolutely no doubt to the reader, that a full distance move must be made.
I think to keep it simply, if the target is a Gruntz unit, then ramming can continue the full distance however if it is another vehicle, ramming should stop on contact.
I still am not convinced that it is clear enough that a ramming roll to hit needs to be made, so if this is the case, I would also like to see that specifically mentioned in the errata as well.
The way close combat works for vehicles vs vehicles is terribly unclear as well. It would only take a sentence or two to clear this issue up as well, so I would also like to see this addressed in the errata.
I think a solid section on ramming and assaulting for vehicles in the errata is needed.

I have some vacation time coming up in September and will be editing the rules then. Hoping to get an official updated PDF out before the holiday. Hi Robin, just wondering how you were travelling with this PDF?

Travelling stalled sadly.. I did more family stuff on the holiday than I thought. Then also dived into some painting projects (lots of 15mm). Back now with a vengeance and starting to bed myself down into the files. I will certainly be looking for some help with reviews/red pen etc on the result as I work through. I will post details.

Hi Robin. As I am now a full time house husband, I am able to invest some time in this.

Family is far more important, glad you had the opportunity to spend a heap of time with them...the rules can get done whenever. I'll put my hand up to have a look at anything you want others to check over whenever needed.

Just firing up this thread with a bump. I have managed to upgrade to a new version of Adobe Indesign, so I am keen to put energy into a 1.2 release of Gruntz with all the errata fix's in place and possibly some other tweaks.

Looking forward to seeing some officially updated rules. As all gamers do I suppose, I wonder from game system to game system in phases...I've been away from 15mm Sci Fi for several months (playing 10mm Fantasy, Fantasy Naval and Spaceship Combat)...but I'm starting to get a strong feel to get back into 15mm Sci Fi again...so I'm looking forward to seeing any updates come along. Robin, do you have a current compilation of answer to FAQ and/or Errata that you might be able to share out in the mean time?

An updated 1.2 would be great. I am finally about to try to drum up some 15mm support in my area, and having an updated, streamlined rule-set would help.

Is there a searchable FAQ anywhere? Don't want to be repeating things already discussed. Will post one qn anyway... Are the stats for Vehicle Assault Laser correct? All smaller lasers have AP 4 but for Assault it is 2? Also I assume that AE - is the same as AE 0? Looking to stat up all my Heavy Gear mechs

Nope, couldn't wait, here is qn 2 before I go to bed...
Looking at the costings for some of the smaller projectile weapons and they don't seem consistent: (Name Range-Damage-AE-AP)
SA. Medium Projectile 11- 7-0-1 for 3pts <- seems expensive, why 50% more than the better spec S. Heavy? S. Heavy Projectile 12- 8-0-2 for 2pts Vehicle Lt Proj 13- 9-0-2 for 3pts Vehicle Lt Gatling 13- 9-4-2 for 2pts <- seems v cheap? Should the AP be 1 or even 0? Vehicle Me Proj 14-11-0-4 for 4pts Vehicle Me Gatling 14-10-4-2 for 3pts <- At least this has less AP than the equivalent size proj.

We have a club errata for Planetfall that may help in an unofficial way (unless you count Indiana Gruntz events where it is the way to play)
Go to the Gruntz News section and find the Second Annual Indiana Event post. Link is there.

Thanks I will take a look. Finally got around to downloading Barracks and that definitely appears to have some differences.

The second sentence of the second paragraph under Alternating Activation (p.94) is mangled.

Thanks for the comments. Please do keep errata items coming, so I can feed them into an update. Thanks.
