So I understand models with power armor may buy SWs individually, and they're assumed to be equipped with both the typical Gruntz weapon chosen for the squad, plus the SW. When they shoot, do they fire both weapons, or only one or the other?

My understanding is that they can shoot only one weapon, but may choose which one. The commander is the only infantry sized model that can shoot two weapons.

That's what I was thinking, thanks. I was looking for rules that explicitly stated an infantry model could only fire one, but couldn't find any.

Page 12, ver 1.1. In the little "Actions" box.
"Most units can only fire once, unless they have Perkz or a special weapon which allows them to break the single shooting action rule."

I wasn't aware that bit referred to the question of firing multiple weapons, but I guess now I know!
One more thing - for shooting, all measurements are made from a model's base, but what if the model is a vehicle and has no base? Do you measure from the closest end of the hull, or could you do it from the weapon emplacement itself?

We always measure from closest edge to closest edge but it more agreed upon between friends than anything I recall seeing in the book.

Hmm, I see what you're saying! It didn't occur to me that it COULD mean that you can fire as many weapons as you have, but only once. After re-reading everything it's not totally clear to me. I would say you have to choose, since that makes more sense to me. I'm sure once Robin is done at Salute we'll get a better answer

Shooting at a vehicle that has no base, just aim at the nearest edge of the vehicle. I have been basing some of mine but mostly go without a base unless it is a walker.
It is a case of choosing which weapon in a squad of PA. One to make a little clearer in the Errata.
