Greetings! I've been playing games like Warhammer 40k for some time now, but admittedly it's gotten stale (and expensive!), so I've been browsing around for other rulesets and minis. I discovered 15mm sci fi, and free rules like Fast and Dirty and No Limits. Then I came across Gruntz and decided that was the one. I just bought the rules and have been reading them through. I showed it to a friend and hopefully I can get an army or two up and running soon.
I live in CT, though my college is in PA. I haven't found a whole lot of wargamers in my area, unfortunately.

I've already replied to a post or two of yours but welcome!
The nice thing about getting into this game is the pure affordability of everything. One thing to keep in mind is that this isn't 40K with the What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get, so if you make some unit cards that don't really work, you can always remake the cards and keep the same minis. Saves a lot on time and frustration of "on paper this looks awesome but since it sucks in actual play... guess I gotta get the ol' hobby knife and cut off some bits..."
