Hello. I have GZG's Grav Mini Drones: And I want to make them a squad. I understand how to make them a vehicle specialist, but I'd rather they be a squad, and act like a squad. Should I just build them in Barracks, then edit the card (in photoshop) to change movement to "grav" like the specialist? I'd make them Guard: quick or superquick, with Soak: light or lower. And give them a laser pistol weapon. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

That sounds like a reasonable approach. I'm about to field a drone group too and I'll start with your approach.

Great work. I really like the color schemes and identification markers. Totally different to how I did mine in a basic camo and now I want to revisit them to improve the models!

On the subject of models. You could certainly build them as a standard squad with laser pistols perhaps. Just give them a longer runner type perk to give them the additional movement.

I should probably mention I made a blog post about the painting / basing process: tabletop.magigames.org/?p=264Also, I'm in the process of painting 12 of GZG's spider drones to match the color schemes of the grav drones, 4 of each color scheme. That will give me 21 "robot" troops, maybe the troops of a rouge AI? So I'd just need the AI robot boss. Any suggestions for a mini to use as the boss?

Well, whatever mini I guess you have your color selected Although not a robot I really like the high tech humans in power armor from Khurasan. One of those would work great. They seem very droid like. Squinch

For Small Squads of Drones & other Squads of Small Fliers I Add 3 Points to the Squad & give them a Move of 9. I base the Points & Movement on the Vehicle Specialist Scout Hover for Mobility. I have reworked the effect for terrain to Give them Greater Speed without Breaking the Game. Bellow are the Terrain Effects for these Units.
Heavy Woods (Choose From Options Bellow) Option 1 Can Pop up Over Terrain Up to 6 Inches in Height But are at -3 to Hit any Targets Bellow the Cover Of The Canopy of the Heavy Woods & are Exposed Targets Enemy Gain a +1 to Hit when shooting at the Unit. Option 2 Move Up to 2/3 of its move (6 Inches) flying Nap of the Earth.
Impassable Can Pop up Over Terrain Up to 6 Inches in Height.
I also been experimenting with other Squads Requiring Specialized Mobility for troops with only a Single Damage Point. In all Cases I Simply Add the appropriate Points & do not Require a Perk for this Movement.
