My two oldest boys (6 and 8) and I decided to have a battle. I decided to attach a PDF file this time. Any feedback on how the AAR is setup (pics, size. etc) would be appreciated. Enjoy! Squinch Attachments:

Liked your story, squinch. As far as the AAR system goes, I guess it's what you want to provide for end results. What I used in other game systems was as follows;
Name of Scenario/Battle/Campaign
Forces involved (this would include the organization name if there is one and how many points each unit was worth)
Observations on the outcome, including like you did, the damage sustained by the units involved.
Recommendations/house rules on the game mechanics, if any.
I have questions about your terrain. Did you use cardstock to make the buildings? Something I need to look at doing for modern style buldings. Where did you get the battlefield cloth from?

Lordvankar44, I made the buildings out of pink foam cut on a table mounted hot wire. I made blocks the length and width of each building, one block per floor. I then turned each block on its side and cut of a thin piece; becoming the roof and floors. I took each main block and using the cutter cut the inside out, leaving walls. I was left with a hollow section and one thin piece per floor.
The cut off section from the lowest level was hot glued to the hollow (walls) of the next floor up. Repeated this except the last slice just sits on the top walls to make a roof.
This way each floor is removable and minis can be set inside. I added cardboard ( Cheerios box) for doors and windows then painted.
I make the fur mats myself. I figured them out last year. In all my years of gaming I have never come across such a versatile and great looking game mat. This week I plan to make an alien board using red, gray and brown. I'll post pics if it looks halfway decent.

Wow that is quite the work on the buildings. Kudos to you. I don't know if I can be as motivated to do it that way. But that's cool that you can remove floors for the minis to move around in. I may just start with using poster board and designing a box shape for buildings, then fold and paste together and use extra pieces for windows and doors. As for the mat, very interesting.

The buildings only take 5 minutes each to cut out and get ready for cardboard. Painting took the longest and I had second thoughts on how many windows I stuck on each one. Squinch

I.ve always been meaning to get a hot wire device to cut the foam. It would certainly make things easier for hills and buildings then.
