Well my club was introduced to Gruntz last night and it went down well ;D We played a 350pt game with a Lizard / Bugs force and a force of GZG FSE with vehicle support. Here is a group of pictures from our club webste ;D www.wessexwyverns.org.uk/index.php?option=com_powerslidepro&view=module&mod_id=50&Itemid=89Here is a shot of the plastic bugs that need to be tarted up but are a good size and cheap! Only 99p each so easy on the budget Any good ideas are welcome to give these the right look they are Mecha's in the game that also have the flying ability transform. This is part of the Lizard force which was backing up the three bugs. Agile little buggers but wear no Armour. Mmmm squishy! Now this is one of my wheeled tanks from Brigade which performed well at knocking out the bugs bit by bit. And finally a blurry picture of the GZG FSE infantry which need finishing off but are at least based painted. Cheers Matt

Well you had a few pictures but no real battle report. Well the game last about two and a half hours. As said in the above post we used 350pts a side with two objectives one being a fuel dump in the human half and the other a group of Hab Blocks which had been over run by the Lizards. Well both sides rolled to see who went first and then we alternated the unit activation. We used the rule that enables you to shoot and then move as well as the normal move and shoot. We just stated that you aimed instead for one action instead of not moving to get the plus one to shoot this seemed to work well Humans went first and then play alternated with lots of double moves to get into position. This resulted in little shooting apart from a long range shot from one of the wheeled tanks to shoot one of the Bugs (Medium Mecha) and did it some damage. On it's activation it moved behind cover then activated it's regeneration vehicle mod healing all bar one point On the second turn the humans started to use there 'Let Rip' perk. This came into use with a few combined shots at the lizards and suppressing a couple of squads. The vehicles and bugs exchanged fire but minimal damage on both sides! The third turn the Lizards managed to get to go first and the right most bug landed and transformed to walk mode then shot the nearest wheeled tank doing 12 damage and going through two critical boxes! This meant that two rolls on each system box and it lost both it's Armour and Tech! There was a lot of movement to get both sides Gruntz to get to there objectives. The humans had APC's but the lizards had to run! But they did have ultimate agility so one extra to move stat and ignore difficult terrain penalties On the fourth turn the Lizards again got to go first then they flew the middle bug up to have a go at the damaged tank as it was flying could not fire it's plasma gun but could charge at 12" (move 9 and +3 for ram/charge) but missed. Then the tank backed out to shoot and got thumped by the bug for leaving combat (it had claws!) and destroyed it! That Armour reduction, really was, it's doom! So to turn five there was waxed infantry everywhere! What was left of the humans standard Gruntz squads was in its APC and doubled moved towards the objective. The Gruntz jumped out on there activation and ran! They got there! And then where promptly shot twice by the Lizard commander but made there condition brown roll! The commander then moved so he was contesting the objective into one of the buildings. One of the human specialist units fired it's mortar and needed 10 on two D6 to hit (it had succeeded the turn before but didn't quite kill the little bugger!) and he got box cars 12! Oh well there goes the Lizards counterstrike! So objective held for the Humans! On the other side of the table the last of Lizards Gruntz squads charges in to take on the FSE Power Armour at the fuel dump. Two FSE PA drop but they pass there condition brown check! Then they activate and kill over half of the lizards in H2H and they fail there CB check and two more get hacked down from running! Then with the FSE next activation there leader let's rip with his two medium plasma guns and vaporizes the last two Lizards and then it was all over! Victory to the humans but the Lizards and bugs will be back for some revenge:) Cheers Matt

So third battle in two weeks So here we have a downed alien transport which some combat engineers need to salvage some information from. We both decided that Dave had to spend an action (only one per activation with each engineer unit) with a skill check of 10 to get a success. He required 3 successes and then had to extract one of his engineer units off table with the Intel. Dave just succeeded at this by turn five Here are a group of pictures of the game ;D (sorry a few are a bit blurred ) The crashed ship and objective. If the crash site was contested no skill roll could be made. The humans had two security squads in white (All GZG Zero Gee troopers) one heavy one light both had jump pack perk. And also two engineer squads in Red (All GZG Zero Gee engineers) one heavy one light. Dave also borrowed two of my wheeled tanks and a single specialist armored car to bring his total just over 250 points. I tried to flank with my Bugs and sent the Lizards up through the middle. A turn or so later it got a bit messy around the objective with two skill rolls made and only one more required then hopeful evac for Dave's engineers. But Dave managed to pull it off and pulled out his light combat engineers with one of his transports ;D All in all Dave's first game and he really enjoyed it and I have another game this Friday (with yet another different opponent) as well And here is one of my new buildings (all new ones in grey primer) which I built over the weekend still not finished but had to use them ;D (can you spot what its made from ?) Oh and here is a couple of shots of the table Cheers Matt

Thanks guys What are those nifty 6 wheel vans from? They are Dave's (he got them on eBay and I'm searching for some myself now) they are bomber trucks from UFO or Captain Scarlet I think! I'll double check with Dave but I am sure Robin will correct me as he has similar vehicles himself Cheers Matt

From Dave "They were Konami bomb trucks from UFO. They are the same people that made the Shado 1s. I've not seen either type in eBay for some time now,but they go for about a £10" Cheers Matt

Well I have another report from Wednesday night when three of my friends came over for some Gruntz. We had a 150 point game. They asked what FSE stood for (Federal Stats Europa) and when they found out they had french accents all night! Think a very bad 'Allo Allo' So here is a look at the battle field just at the start of the first turn the Lizards got a push move to help them get to the objective a crashed ship! Then the FSE moved one of there tanks up to see if they could disrupt the Lizards chain of command (if they had one?) Well this is the view from the tank mmm no commander in sight! The Lizards hunkered down behind the objective hoping they could not be seen buy the humans..... Well they humans proved them wrong buy moving up round with a push move they shooting them little guys! The bug seeing that his commander was i danger went forward to see if he could persuade the tank to pick on someone bigger! So this is what the table looked like after this. With the other tank and bug exchanging blows in the town! The bug eye view of the tank bug exchange And another! And what of the Lizards and they had taken some incoming fire! With both squads down Lizards but still not out! Then the next turn happened! The tank went after the Lizard commander thinking it was safe in the woods but rolling a critical with the main gun tended to upset him when all his followers saw there leader have his head removed they though better of it and ran off the board! So the FSE Gruntz moved up to take the objective! Which lead to the demise of the two bugs and the other! And this is what the table looked like after turn four. Devastation of the Lizard and bug forces1 With the last Lizard on condition brown, and the FSE force with only scratched paint! Cheers Matt
