Just got the barracks app and doing my commander who has mech 5" move... can't change the move in barracks - no button for that? Also means the cost will be wrong. + why can't the commander have Modz?

I want modz for commanders, I'm using a 28mm character who will be an android, not an organic...

I just went in and you could Stat it out using type "Heavy" for 18 damage boxes and then give him the Ultimate Agility perk or Long Runners to up his movement. The issue is you can't really get vehicle weapons. The perks just use drop boxes. As an alternative you could build an actual vehicle mech and have your commander "pilot" it. It would use the mechs stats but the commander's skill and the commander could punch out if the Mech get gacked.

I would do this by creating a Commander and also creating a Mecha. Use a super-low Skill on the Mech but pick a good one for the Commander. Then use a Commander model + a mecha model. You can then use him to pilot the mech with the full stat line but use the Mecha as the actual weapon bearing tabletop mini.
When I field commanders in vehicles I usually always just make it two models so I can pop the Commander out of the vehicle at key moments.

The missing Mobility option is a mistake in Barracks.
There is no option for Mods because it's not a vehicle. Instead, as listed in the Gruntz 1.1 rules, Commanders get Perkz.

Thats what I mean - no option for the move stat! I don't want a piloted mech, I want a Mechanoid Commander (see pic) If he can be Heay/Assault category, he should be Vehicle sized and be able to have Modz like the vehicle specialist. Fig is 'Ghost' from EM4 miniatures. Attachments:

Again, the lack of mobility options is a mistake in Barracks, it's been added to my list of things to fix in the next update.
Commanders (like Monsters) get Perkz instead of Modz, regardless of size. That's something you need to take up with Robin or house-rule with your regular opponents. It won't be added to Barracks unless Robin adds it as an official part of the Gruntz 1.1 rules.

@dalek: I am little confused because you can still make that model, using a mecha and using a commander pilot. Just don't let the commander out, he just becomes part of the mecha.
However he is very small, so not really Assault or Large size from a perspective of a mech. I would consider him a scout mech or light at most (at least from a pure size perspective).
