Right now on the workbench ( I live in a tiny house by the beach in San Diego, so my 'workbench' is half a table in my tiny living room ), I've got 5 squads and 3 vehicles unpainted vs 5 squads and 2 vehicles painted and done.
I pledged the Critical Mass Kickstarter, and, at the last minute, upgraded from the £35 Company Commander to the £85 Mechanised Infantry Commander - which means I went from 79 troops & 9 guns, to 79 troops & 9 guns AND 7 vehicles.
Those won't arrive until May, even if they are on time (and how many Kickstarters are on time?)
BUT, the Traveller 5 kickstarter is finally going to ship next week, we all hope, and I am very much excited about running a Traveller campaign, Full Thrust games, and Gruntz games all in the same universe.
I've used the impending Traveller 5 release as an excuse to buy minis "for role playing" - meaning they are not squads, but civilians, villains, aliens, monsters, etc.
I may have gone a bit overboard.
I ordered a bunch from GZG, then, as Khurasan is now back, I had my eye on a bunch of minis from them, and then a reddit post about how awesome Khurasan is pushed me over the edge, and I ordered a bunch of minis from them.
So, next week, I'll have a whole crapload of minis show up at my door, from the UK and the USA. Along with some Army Painter Shade and other miniature related items. And of course I have to buy some new paints in anticipation of what I'll need.
My wife is going to kill me. Or at least demand several pair of shoes and a few purses.
Oh well. I'm happy I can enjoy my hobby. And I am seriously looking forward to painting Khurasan's not-robocop and not-predator. Not to mention the hot chick ass-kicking squad.
