I backed! Totally worth a look. Great company, great guys, great minis.
The mechanized force looks to provide a very nice new Gruntz force for me, with integral IFV support.

Aaron well apart from being MORE expensive than buying their figures from the website??? Not sure i understand the rational behind that decision. at the £33 level you are paying 58p per figure and at the £85 one, that drops to 54p (assuming vehicles are at retail cost). Compared to buying figures from them at the moment at about 46p each!!! So basically join our kickstarter and we will up the price by about 20%. uhhhh...on reflection...No thanks, i'll wait till they are available at retail.

Great to see some new figures though. Shame they're sticking with the same commander pose - a guy who looks like everyone else but is pointing How about a bare head or two?

Remember though, shipping is included. fair point, not sure it covers all the difference though. and given CMGs very simple flat rate shipping structure anyway it could have been done very simply by stating 'add £3' for postage at every level

I suppose the extra cash goes to the developement of the new figures. With the monster kickstarter campaigns by some of the larger "established" companies its easy to forget that the concept of crowdfunding is to allow people to raise money for the developement of their ideas.

AS CMG have been very successful in developing and selling 15mm and are still around after what 3+ years, I think it is reasonable to assume that they have a sound cost model. This just looks odd to me and I can't work out how they can justify such a significant increase over retail...hence i'm not backing it. but YMMV.

Hi guys, thanks to redeaston for posting the link up to the Kickstarter, things are flying along quicker than Dale and I expected so thanks to you all who have pledged your support.
Demonetrigan I wanted to address your points in this topic. You have looked as this project from the simple point of what it is going to cost you and appear to have taken that point of view, (that you are very much entitled too), that you would not be getting a good deal.
Looking at if from our point of view we have pitched our project at an according level meaning that even in the worst case we can still hopefully succeed, in the best case the ZAS range grows and you get more for your pledge as the stretch goals are met.
Kickstarter is a gamble, (alright a safe one for you if a project does not fund), but for us we might fall flat, having wasted your time and dashing our hopes, but the ZAS Project has hit an accord with many people who have decided to help us, and that point of helping is just as much a part of Kickstarter for some, as you just getting something out of it for pledging to the project. Take a look at the Deathstar project if you want to see a prime example of people helping out with some fun.
You can be critical of our choices by all means but we have spent alot of time preparing, and preparing did included failure and how to avert it.
Now if you want to go on a pure numbers stand point per component, then look at how many parts involved in the company commander pledge if we are lucky enough to hit the "fire power to maximum" stretch goal. 84 parts, thats 57 figures from the company commander pledge, 3 gatling guns, 3 laser cannons, 3 RAM, 6 Heavy Weapon Bases and 12 Crew. The price drops to £0.36 per part on the £30 pledge and £0.39 per part on the £33 pledge which bring its directly into line with our current range of platoons, which are discounted over the standard packet price of £3.70.
I hope at this point the maths makes more sense to you.
Yes I agree the cost per part is higher on the lower pledges, but look at the uptake, these pledges, to my mind, are for people who are interested in being part of the project and may not have the funds or the interest for the larger pledges. These pledges are there for people who wish to be involved more than anything else rather than grab the biggest bang for their buck.
Craig

Craig Craig, not sure there is much risk of you falling flat given the very low funding target you have set and the general enthusiasm of the 15mm community I will admit that with the funding goals you have hit and the additional information you have put up on the additional pack price this looks a lot more attractive now. I think I can certainly see where Craig is coming from. If you are doing a kickstarter it is all about investing in the development and not just a shopping list.

I agree, and I'm not criticising them in any way, I was just surprised that the KS deal was SO unattractive compared to retail at start. I fully agree that now that they are well into stretch goals, have added the cheaper additional packs options this is much more attractive. It may well be that we have in effect been spoiled by the many KS that offer such amazing deals, and i know at least some have been burnt by the level of 'bonuses' that they offered.

The silhouette pic for one of the mechs I did is up. This is the Blackguard fire support variant. The Ravager assault mech with jump jets and close-in weaponry should be up soon. I think you're going to like them. But I am biased, naturally. Best, JBR
