At PAW13 the Dice and Dagger Gaming Club, put on a show game of Gruntz. It was played on a 6x4 table with over 500pts each side. The Scenario The K.R.O.W forces had set up a fortified camp on a small planet. Unfortunately they had come under the attack of Protolene forces. Leading the army away the protolene had effectivaly removed the defences leaving behind only civillian forces. Mission The table has two objective markers. The landing pad and the comms tower. The attacker has 5 turns with his entire force to gain what he could against the small defenders. At the begining of defenders turn 5 the army shows up. Game continues untill turn 10 Incase of a draw civillians were worth extra points to the attacker if captured and to the defender if alive. Over the weekend we played 3 games with 1 win, 1 draw and a loss... so not bad.

The early battle starts with the Protolene taking the pad over-running the cops with ease till only one remains

The Protolene learned rapidly from previous mistakes and attacked much quicker in the last two games. Rounding up the civies... ...and gunning them down...!!

That Tau with 15mm works great, I've always wanted to do that. I'd love to know what you guys did to convert it up!
Also, that banner carrier is great!
And I like how all the civies were packed up in the hauler. ;D

Great weekend! Big thanks to Critical Mass games for the prizes we gave out to those who took part. Also thanks to Warbases whose new up-and-coming range of 15mm sci fi terrain we were using! Thanks, not much done to the Tau vehicle atm. Will want to get som vehicle turrets i think to blend it in with my army and hopefully make it look less Tau! ;D As for the civies, they sped around in their work truck dodging everything in game 1, unfortunately in a later game it lost its engine and was rapidly turned into a smoking crater

Was there any penalties for firing on the civilians? Or we're they glorified targets?
Oh, and I want you to know it's your fault I just ordered a Tau Devilfish!

Ha! nope no penalties, but if they lived it would be a bonus to the defenders.
The tau vehicle it well worth it for a scout dropship i think. I have based it of a large pill/cartouche shaped base from warbases, so it blends in with the cmg bases. The missile pods are from som 10mm mecha bits i had.
