in v1.0 I could create squads from 6-8 (incl SA), now i appear to only be able to create squads of size 6??
I thought 1.1 would allow us to create squads up to size 10?

As I understand it, you now just divide the 6-man unit cost by 6 then multiply by the number of troops you want. Round off then add SA cost.

The standard size is now 6. Look at page 44, fourth paragraph under "Gruntz Units", that has the rules to make a variable squad size.
Basically you divide the cost of the unit by 6 to get a cost for a single grunt. Then you multiply that by how many squad members you want, then you add the SA cost.

Yes you can go from 4 to 10 and the Swarm perk was adjusted accordingly.

What about 3? I've been itchin' to play with a rifle section of 5 and an automatic weapons section of 3. Two separate units, but in terms of organisation considered part of the same squad.

You could always make it a specialist... but I don't know why you wouldn't be able to go below 4...

I don't see an issue with the 3 man section. If you want to do it & play with the same people regularly just make it a house rule as long as everyone agrees it is not an issue.
